Food you hate

Same here. I remember waking up from my nap when I was about four years old and saying to myself, 'You know, I really don't like milk.' Haven't touched the white stuff since.

So, it goes without saying that I have spent my entire life working around cows! ;)
I have had some fun with many since my divorce. They tend to do something quite well.
Now just exactly what are you two guys talking about... I maybe reading too much into this. Nevermind.:)

It's a long list, since I'm not a fan of most vegetables or dairy - with the exception of ice cream, but that goes without saying, right? But, topping my list of things I can't/won't eat are sour cream, mayonaise, yoghurt or anything made with said substances. Foul and nasty goop!
Yeah, I'm not real big on eating bland, slimy white stuff. Add ranch dressing to that list. When the end comes, I'll eat it, but when there's an option, I opt out of slimy white stuff.

I feel the same way about cucumbers. Absolutely hate them. I'm sure that's what windex would taste like. Weird thing is, I love tzatziki sauce.
Also hate the melon family.

Totally agree on the cucumbers. Gross things. I'm fine with melons though.

I can't eat shellfish. Anything from the sea with a shell, whether arthropods like lobsters and shrimp, or clams and mussels, wreak havoc on my digestive tract. I LIKE some of it, especially lobster, but have to avoid it.

Apart from cucumbers, stuff I hate - not too much, I try not to be picky. I don't get along well with coconut. It isn't the flavor - cooking with coconut milk is great. It's the texture, just rubs me the wrong way. Can't drink the pulpy "country style" OJ for the same reason.

I'll eat things that would make a billy goat puke! I do have a few things that I won't eat, but in general, I'll eat anything, properly prepared.
I draw the line at bugs. I classify escargot as bugs. I also avoid any kind of melon and as a kid, I would cross the street if a store had them out front on the sidewalk display.
Someone mentioned tripe. I was at a wedding for a co-worker, all Jamaican except for our table. First course was a "soup". I had no idea what it was, but everyone else there, was gulping it down. My wife, very picky, didn't want hers, either did my boss. Three bowls later, I understood why they liked it!

Ketchup, mustard, mayo, sour cream, ranch, guacamole. Any salad dressing. Any condiment except relish and even then it needs to be small doses. And anything made with these or vinegar. Yogurt, milk, cole slaw. Anything even remotely spicy. Eggs unless they're cooked solid. Meat unless it's cooked fully and no red or pink. Sushi. Chinese, or anything ethnic or with weird flavors or sauces.

Basically if you give me something plain with cheese, I'll eat it. I'll eat most plain fruits and veggies, Brussels sprouts and asparagus are good too. They're all better with cheese. Cereal or salad will be plain and dry. A sandwich will be dry. I eat a lot of things from boxes or cans, and some fast food stripped down. I need my food to be simple and predictable.

You, sir, are a crazy person.

Everybody in my office already knows my mantra when we are deciding on what to have for lunch. I don't eat anything green.

Broccoli, brussel sprouts, asparagus, avocados, spinach, kale, etc, you get the idea. No salads except fruit salad.

(Although the lima beans and green beans at Cracker Barrel aren't bad...that's because they cook them in bacon grease, giving them a much needed flavor boost.)

We grow peas in the back yard. Fresh peas are insanely good. They rarely make it into the kitchen. We had a bumper crop of cherry tomatoes, and they were fantatstic. The cayenne, thai, and hot yellow pepper crop from this year are drying and ought to keep us spiced up for a year or so. Habaneros haven't ripened. I hope they don't just turn to mush. We grow kale, spinach, potatoes, garlic and other kinds of greens in our garden. It's amazing how much a piece of ground that's about 8 feet by less than 15 feet can produce. It would also kill a whole lot of people in this thread, amazingly enough.

I don't know why anyone would choose to eat falafel. I consider my taste buds to be refined and somewhat eclectic, but falafel is just terrible. It's like eating the stuffing of a couch after a million butts have sat and farted on it...not that I would know what that tastes like or anything. Also, sushi has to be the most overrated food item on the planet, especially considering that it's not made well 90% of the time. I worked for three years in seafood and much of what I see being passed off a sushi grade is anything but, particularly when it comes to salmon. If they can't get the salmon right, stay FAR away from everything else.

:roflmao::laugh: For the record I love sushi but to each is own. That aside your hot dog statement brought back a memory from many years ago. At some point my family (except for me and my father) got into this health kick. That included "vegetarian hot dogs". This was when they first came out with vegetarian hot dog so to say they didn't quite get it right is an understatement. To put it bluntly it was an ugly shade of green or something.

So anyway me and this guy David were really close and did a lot together which included playing basketball in my backyard. I still feel bad taking it down and breaking his heart. But anyway, my mom used to make us lunch a lot which amazingly was bagel bites most of the time. But this time my mom offered to make us hot dogs which the vegetarian ones weren't good but tolerable and all they would buy so I was okay with it. But I fail to tell my buddy about it, and the look on his face when he looked down at that dog was priceless. Dude I am 43 years old and we were like 16 or younger at the time and I still remember this like it was yesterday. Still makes me laugh and still bothers me when I think about me bringing down the basketball net (the pole was almost rusted through all the way so I just finished it off).
