Tell her you are following the scienceHey honey.... so G&L had a huge update to their jazz basses which is basically forcing me to buy another one... it's basically out of my control.
This is a game-changer that I have been waiting for. I'll be wanting sets for my pair of USA JB2s, for sure. My USA JB with empress body might be left as-is, since I think it already nails the 1964 "holy grail" sound quite well.
I was at G&L getting a cool mod done on my Jazz bass and found out that what I was having done will be an option for orders in the near future...my bass now sports a set of MFD Jazz pickups in it. The sound is fantastic - big and full without losing the "jazz" bass vibe.
A couple other really cool things will be available from G&L soon...if you are a fan, stay in touch with their social media accounts. I am not associated in any way, just a player who digs what they do!

Oh wow - this might save my Fender Jazz V from being moved on if I can get 5 string versions of the pickups and they fit the Fender routes. My main basses are 2 G&L L2000s, and I can't make the standard J V pickups work with my setup when moving between the 2 basses.
Or maybe I just sell the Fender and grab a 5 string G&L Jazz 5er (I'm assuming 5 string versions will come out at some stage?)
Or lastly - maybe there might end up being a 19mm spaced L2500 in the near future? That would be sick!!!
G&L are definitely stepping up their options.

I think that there is definitely some experimentation going on in Fullerton, and that G&L has not publicly reached a conclusion about what their next non-trad Jazz offering will be. There's been a one-off El Toro build from leftover parts, and a downplaying of the MJ line, in 2020. A rebirth of the JB-2 with MFDs could be afoot, given the popularity of the Tribute JB-2 in the marketplace. Indeed, I believe that it is the marketplace that is driving things towards the JB-2 rebirth, since the Sire Marcus Miller line certainly commands a lot of the "modern active Jazz that's budget-friendly" market sector, and the JB has the classic J-bass market covered.
Drop into the SCTMMC and you can use it multiple times a day.
This is funny
My SB-1 is having to pop back to Fullerton, and I'm choosing to find it funny. Its a ridiculous habit they've found themselves with, and ridiculous things are amusing. In any case, what would my getting hacked off achieve? I guess angry people must enjoy getting angry, but I for me, I can't see how it will improve the wait for my bass. Buying another bass to entertain myself with....that seems to be a much better way of filling the timeTo some, yes... to others, not so much.
