Go on amazon and buy the cheapest NEW bass. You can get cheap crap for £30 new, but be careful. I bought a cheap bass (£100ish) and it's fantastic, it's also made of bamboo.

I want to learn how to calm down and relax. How to react on the fly with calmness. The more frustration and bs it will cause me the better. Every upset it puts out is another opportunity to teach me to slow down and fix the problem without anger. This is more of a mental experiment than musical.

I would suggest golf or a relationship, those type of things can be frustrating. To each his own I guess, not judging here. The other option would be to remove a string or two from your bass and rewire it directly to jack with no knobs....that may "up the challenge factor" a bit and train the mind.

I play golf but its ment to be "relaxing". Just got out of a 5 year as well. As fun and challenging as direct jack with no knobs sounds, I'd like a whole bass with that attitude.

The tone is easily comparable to a bass such as the squier standard p bass or maybe even a vm. I got mine for £40.
Check the classifieds, there's TONNES of basses for sale there at about £40.
And yes, bamboo is fun. Super light (as in the lightest bass I've ever played, everyone who's played it has commented on how light it is. My favourite: 'go on, let me hold it', 'you are') and easy to work with (ish).

Just buy a P bass, it'll never die. thick, strong neck, durable body and the poly paint won't peel off that easly, you can even get one for about 150-200$.

Not what I ment. I should gave chosen better words, no slang. I like danos, my favorite player plays dano when touring. I would never smash an instrument that can still produce a sound. I want something a little less than a dano because I know how good they can be. I want something troublesome.

A little too costly for what I have in mind. I will check those out though. I've never heard of that brand. Always like learning about new stuff.

I feel it is easier to play with cheap instruments though... If you ever played a boutique instrument you will notice that the fact that each note is so clear it outlines your bad technique and thus forcing you to get good technique with it. Every instrument demands its appropriate technique but if playing a cheap plastic instrument relaxes your mental state... to each his own.

Not recently, no. Good doc though. Would have been better without Edge, imo.

Glad I'm not the only person who felt that way. The scene where he plays the riff with and without effects was like T-Pain singing with and without auto tune and saying "See? It sounds way better with auto tune on!" I felt Eddie Van Halen, Paul Gilbert, Slash, Richie Sambora, heck anybody but Edge would have been a better pick for that era. Jack White was the bomb in that though...he comes off as more of a musician than just a guitarist IMO, he's a very 3-dimensional guy.
