The late Randy Jo Hobbs, played bass on Edgar Winter's Frankenstein.

Great player, definitely under the radar...but I'm fairly certain that while Randy Jo Hobbs did play bass on two tracks from They Only Come Out At Night, the tune "Frankenstein" was not one of them. Which means it was either Dan Hartman or Rick Derringer who played bass on "Frankenstein."

(I know "We All Had A Real Good Time" is one of those tunes from that album that Randy played on...can't remember the other one, & I don't have any liner notes handy. Arrgh... Google not helping!)

edit: ah-ha! Found it, courtesy of Mix Magazine: the other tune from They Only Come Out At Night that Randy Jo Hobbs played bass on was "Free Ride", and it was Dan Hartman who played bass on "Frankenstein"

Mike Visceglia - Suzanne Vega
It's great to see this mention, Mike is one of my favorite people on the planet, period! Not only a great guy, but the most down to earth, genuinely funny person you could ever meet in a lifetime. Check out his other project Then There Were Two, just bass and vocals in a very intimate setting and great live!
