Formula 1/F1/Formula One

Friends of mine are currently at COTA for the Friday practice sessions. They've attended all the F1 events at COTA over the years and are telling me they've never seen bigger crowds on Friday. Receiving word it's nice and warm with temps in the mid-80s.

People are hungry for F1, especially after they missed out last year. Plus, Drive To Survive and a tight points battle are certainly helping.

Anyone here attending this weekend's festivities? I'll be watching from the couch. :)

As talented as Michael was, I was never a fan of his when he was driving... mostly because of his sourpuss attitude when a race wouldn't go his way.

If he could turn back time, I'd like to think he would've handled the F1 portion of his career differently.

I'm pretty sure I've said this before,
somewhere, but I sure hope Michael's a much better owner than he was a F1 driver...

So I wonder who's bright idea it was to have such a massive dose of Danica in the pre-race? Did someone tell them Americans just adore her? Educated race fans in the U.S. do not because we see that she hasn't done diddly. Her career was as long as it was because she was "marketable."

With her never having competed in F1, having only one IndyCar win in and really... c'mon... which F1 enthusiast cares about her Neck-Car "career?" I honestly don't see the value she brings to this broadcast.

A very bad move by Sky Sports.

Money talks? ;) What's with her accent? Is it that I've gotten so used to Simon, Jensen, Natalie, Martin, and all, that she sounded like a foreigner to me? :roflmao:

The DRS didn't seem to be very effective at the race, today. Good on Max for (just barely) holding off Lewis for a well deserved win at COTA. :)

Very exciting race, overall.

Good race. Would’ve preferred to see Lewis win to keep the battle seesawing, but not to be. Will be interested to see how different races like that will be next year with the different aero package that should reduce the penalty for following closely.
For the first time this year I’m thinking Mercedes may not pull this off. Max is not my favorite driver, but good on him and RedBull for making this a great season.

LOL. I thought the same thing. I laughed when I saw her. I was watching a replay and kept fast forwarding. Everytime I stopped it was her! I was amazed how much pre race they had with her and I fast forwarded through most of it.

Her only win in indy was on a fuel mileage race too. let's not forget that tidbit either.

Some folks say that race at Motegi was Helio's until he misheard the crew on the radio and pitted when he wasn't supposed to. Whatever the case, very fishy.

Btw, what the heck was Danica wearing yesterday? Looked like some failed home economics project.
