Miss that V10 howlFrom the nostalgia department, some hot laps with Michael Shumacher. I miss those days.
Please Enjoy Michael Schumacher Pushing His V-10 F1 Car to the Limit at Monza
I am happy to see that it is orange.
How about that. A picture of an actual car!
It will be very interesting to see how the aero evolves this year. No protrusions/teeth on the sides of the floorboards, etc. If not disallowed by the rules, I expect it won’t look like this by the end of spring testing.
I had the chance to attend Indy back in the late eighties as a guest of the team sponsoring Bobby Rahal (can’t remember who he was racing for back then, Budweiser car, my father in law was a customer of one of the big sponsors and got us the tickets) back in the day of ground effect and we had a dinner the night before the race with the team, etc. One of the engineers was at our table and I remember him telling me that at some relatively low speed (100mph) the underbody ground effect produced enough suction to allow the car to run upside down on the ceiling at that speed. The physics of the underbody aero is pretty impressive.
Anyone know if they are televising spring testing on ESPN?
