Here's a challenge to hone our storytelling, word usage, and similarly lyricist skills, under the confines of certain restrictions, as in being commissioned to write lyrics for someone or something else other than in your own personal style.
The rules for this game are:
You can only use four words only.
No cheating with trying to pass off hyphenated words as a single one.
Entries must make sense.
Being funny is desirable, but no offensive words please, whether directly spelled out or hidden with "#@(&^%$ " characters or underscores.
Once Upon A Time is only used once (post #2). No jumping ship and starting over because the prior poster intentionally or unintentionally made it difficult for their storytelling/songwriting partners.
You can only post after yourself if the last poster leaves something that is difficult to follow, but you must wait 24 hours before posting after yourself.
This will avoid people intentionally making it difficult ahead of time for the next poster, then coming back to continually save the day and show how clever they are.
If no one posts within 24 hours, the next poster can ignore the previous post and take over from post before that.
If a new sentence needs to be started, try and keep it in the same theme as the last few posts while slowly changing the direction of where we've been to avoid getting into a rut.
Extra talent shows when you follow all of the above while making it easy for the next person.
Yes, there are a lot of guidelines to follow, but as musicians, the pros can and must follow and play off the all the others.
