Yes, these are... different.
It takes a little playing with, these are different animals.
The dynamics are important, play lightly or dig in.. u get control, touch sensitivity, the " organic" feel etc
If u dig in fairly heavily all the time, you may never really discover the true beauty of the pedal..
This is it's strongest qualities..
Awesome sustain or Sabbath-like distortion (when u caveman it and play hard)
Although, if u lay back and play softer,
she will stay clean and perform like champ with the full range frequencies of a dry, unaffected signal, and some creamy sustain.
It will take some acclimation, learning to set it right, playing w more dynamics..
Trying w the " dirt" switch and without gives u more to play with. Try it both ways.
I like it set where it sounds almost totally clean, but if I start ripping into it harder, the sustain and grind starts to shine through.
but no bass loss at all,
I keep my bass control dimed all the time, it adds a subtle warmth and thickness to my tone that I'm very used to
