Frequency/gain doubt

If I understand it correctly, the frequency knob adjusts the center frequency for the midrange. Not sure of the values, but the knob sweeps between them, allowing you to fine-tune the type of mids you're looking for. The gain knob controls how much boost or cut you want for the selected frequency.

Thanks NicJim! I am confussed about the concept of "gain".

cheers!

Gain is, in my mind, the same as boost, which is essentially "turning up the volume", so to speak. With the mid gain pot, it allows you to add (boost) or subtract (cut) mids from your sound.

The mid pot should act the same as the treble and bass pots, boosting or cutting those particular frequencies. With the mid frequency control, you have more control over your sound, as you can pick the frequency, unlike the treble and bass which both have a set frequency they cut and boost.
