Fretless Build is Officially Mission COMPLETE

Ok it has been a long time coming, but my fretless build is done an operational... it will see its first show tomorrow night here in Oklahoma City!

Build Specs:

Walnut Body with Satin Black Finish

Hanson Chi Sonic Pickups

Schaller roller bridge and tuners

Moses graphite fretless jazz spec neck (lined and glossed fingerboard)

CTS pots (for those who care)

Orange drop capacitor

Status tapewound strings

Fender Amp knobs

Switchkraft jack

Reverend chrome armrest

wired with just a blend and master tone which I know is weird, but it was the route I wanted to go

That's a pretty striking bass! I am curious how you feel about the Moses neck, and if you have held Zon's and Modulus' necks, how it compares...

No experience with Zon or Status, but I used Modulus for years (wish I still had the 3 I had back then!). Moses is fine... they take their time getting it to you but it's s good neck for a good price

No volume knob is really not a huge deal for me. If I need a quick cut I can mute my strings with my hand or cut the amp... check I might buy a volume pedal haha

As far as the sound, I'm still getting acquainted with it, but it nails the Jaco tone with the back pickup solo ed. I'm still working with the neck pickup to get a sound I like in conjunction with my pedals and amp equipment.
