Definitely better in black. Also, has anybody told you you're like a miniature Penn Jilette?

When my hair is in a ponytail I can see that for sure. Beats the help out of the time I was playing a jazz ensemble gig in college and an older gentleman told the director I looked like meatloaf.

I like the satin hardware too, but the black looks very nice.

Black. With that top and fingerboard something has to give. Black will blend in and get out of the way. It is true that now it looks dull when compared to the sating one. But IMO that's because light and background are dull. If the pictures were taken in the same light and setting as the satin ones, then black would have looked just fine.

Thanks Mizio. Yeah, I think the bad lighting is part of the problem. I'm gonna get some better pics a bit later when the lighting is right outside.

Thanks David. Thats definitely better. Fortunately I just caught the sun at a decent moment to get a couple of shots. The black grows on me more and more and I'm digging the satin chrome on the fretted bass.

Hey Big B, that picture has written 'Black hardware' all over it

If it were me, I would want black bridge with nickel chrome saddles and black tuners with nickel chrome shaft. A little brightness would add to the overall.

I've only been on TB for about a year... but I can't believe that it's taken me this long to find this build. Out standing build, the most beautiful bass I've seen. I play mostly 4's and fretted but I would throw all that out the window for this bass.

How does the CA/expoxy coat affect the fretless tone btw? I built a 5 string fretless with an ebony fretboard, but didn't manage to quite capture the lovely fretless tone you have here. Probably more to do with setup (action needs lowering) but curious about the CA finish.

Yoshi you are 100% right, this was so awesome. First of all no waiting I read through the whole thing this morning and got to see it all at once with no waiting.

Absolutely stunning build in design and execution. Big B you already know it but truly incredible and a fantastic musician.
