My lined fretless USA 55-94 Deluxe (originally built for and previously owned by Bakhiti Kumalo, and I confirmed this with the Kirk @ Lakland). Not sure if I love playing fretless enought to keep her yet. , but the bass sure is beautiful and plays great and sounds amazing!

i'd love to hear the difference between this and a rosewood fretless 55-02. i'm intrigued by the idea of maple fretless, but there's not enough of 'em for me to try.

No - not a custom order.

It was originally a rosewood lined fretless that got converted to maple unlined. The fingerboard is 8mm thick instead of the normal 5mm so it is a real beast of a neck - which I love. The fingerboard is coated in polyurethane varnish with a satin finish. Sounds massive !

Ah, I was wondering if it was coated. Cliff is building me a CB 4 with a bird's eye fb. Probably gonna send it to Pedulla to get the polyester coating when it's done.
