Here's my EDA905F

This shot shows how the bass can not lie flat due to its convex shape. This also makes it very comfortable to play.

The body and fingerboard are plastic. The only thing that's made of wood is the neck.
Tone-wise it sounds pretty good, very uprightish.
That is once you get to know the EQ, and how to mix the magnetic and piezos.

AH!!! My EDA905F is my favorite bass. I love how it feels to play, and you can get the right sounds out of it with the right eq and everything. I'm glad I picked mine up. I actually picked up a fretted version first (EDA905) and loved it so much that when I saw the fretless version I knew I had to have it.

re:Mike - what kind of strings do you have on yours? Does your fingerboard have a lot of wear?
I have chromes on mine, has for at least a year or so. I bought it used early this summer and it had a lot of wear on the fingerboard with the chromes already on it - I havent noticed any increased wear n tear.

I love those unlined maple fingerboards...can't find them anywhere, though. I guess if I want to make a project bass with one, I'll have to order it from Warmoth.

Hey, coolrunner989.

I am slightly embarrassed to admit that the original stock Elixirs
are still on my bass, and I took delivery of it in May of 2003!
My D string looks like a Christmas present on December 26th; it's been unraveled!

I need a new set!

My fingerboard does not have a lot of wear, due to the fact that I have a light touch.

I have also played the fretted version, and liked it very much. I was going to buy one, but then they were discontinued.

You, and I both know that the the EDA905 is a sleeper bass, and is capable of many, nice tones.

I regret not having bought the fretted version.

A nice set of twins you have there! Don't ever sell either one.

I have elixers on my fretted EDA, but I havent tried them on the fretless. I definitely plan on keeping them both, even if I do get a few other really "nice" basses
