Fretless guitar

Look for "Kittyhawk". Back in the early '80s they were playing fusion stuff using fretless guitars. I heard of them from an article in Guitar Player Magazine around 1982 or so. I found this video, ca 1981.

Frank Zappa had an Acoustic Black Widow guitar he had the frets pulled from too. Not an acoustic guitar, but an Acoustic, marketed by The Acoustic Control Corporation, the folks who made the 370/360 bass amp. Zappa said it wasn't a very interesting guitar so he pulled the frets in an effort to emulate slide guitar (ya know he had Lowell George who went on to found Little Feat in The Mothers, don't ya?).
