Fretless Inlays

I just bought a "buzzing" 6 string fretless bass for a hell of a deal. It was set up well and plays mostly well except the 7th "fret" I felt the the neck to find out that the Inlay at that location isn't flat. How can I fix this sand? Or fill and sand or something else

As long as the rest of the board is true, you should be able to spot level that area. Work carefully and use a sanding block. Use a straightedge to make sure you’re not taking that spot lower then the area around it.

Edit: wait, is the fret marker sticking up or is it below the board? I wrote the above assuming the marker was proud of the board.

Thanks. And it feels like the Inlay (not fretmarker) isn't flat. Feels like the Inlay may have been sunken in possibly?

Gotcha. It registered as fretmarker. If it is lower then the surrounding board you might get away with filling with some epoxy or CA glue then level that, similar to a drop fill in paint.

Is the board finished?
