@Skillet, might it make sense to edit the title to read, "FRETNATION.COM (formerly Bass Strings Online) is UP," or something along those lines? People who liked dealing with BSO but have not seen the relevant posts in the other thread might not make the connection from just the title.

The site is really filling out. I ordered some Leartone strings a few days ago. Really glad he's back. I see the customer/order information is all imported from the previous site, which is great.
What? Jasons back up and running? I'm gonna say it. COOL BEANS!
The new site had all my info and past orders! It has been over a year since I bought strings, and I just wasn't interested in finding a new supplier.

Oh, and he's got Dingwall basses now. The Dbird took best of show at NAMM this year. The NG's are killing it. The combustion's are available with quilted tops...

Glad to hear Jason is back up. I told myself I'd hold out with the last two sets of D'addario sets from singles I got from BSO until Jason was back up and running. Mission accomplished.

I was wandering around the site and just now posted a thread asking for opinions regarding differences between D'Addario XL Nickels and Pure Blues. If you've ever played the XLs you care to share?
I'm more curious about tension and tone comparisons than anything else.
I've used XLs, but it has been years. Nice strings, no doubt about it, and very affordable.
Lately, I've been using a Pure Blues, the very light VW set. Or, a slightly stiffer set, the DR Hellborgs. Both are very nice.
I really like the Pure Blues. I think the tension is very low, close to TI jazz flats. I can run either set ( TI's or Pure Blues) on my Dingwall Super P with very little set up fiddling around. The feel is very similar. Very light slinky strings. I've also used the next heavier Pure Blue set. I dig the VW set.
Pure Blues come in a variety of sets, so you can use a heavier set if that's more your cup o tea.
With Fret Nation up and running, I'd recommend the Pure Blues, or the Hellborgs. Both are affordable, though more expensive than XL's.
I've never really thought, "Boy, I miss XL's." They were just an inexpensive nickel round, often on sale in two or three packs.
I get more mileage out of the Pure Blues.
