From passive to active...

Currently I have Seymour Duncan spb2 pickups which are passive in my fender p bass. Great pickups I give them a really good review and would recommend them. My thing is I'm looking for more of that woody warm tone. I'm also looking for more power coming from the bass itself and not the amp. I have had active bass's in the past and the thing I remember is that they were always loud and powerhouse sounding, and I'd barely even have the volume up on bothe the amp or the bass. I've decided to go with Seymour Duncan lightning rods. I know it can be done and I'm going to have this guitar tech that I know install the pickups.any inputs on the type of pickups I'm covering to or anything else..thanx
