How is the Boundary Mighty Jazz compared to Fender Player/USA Special 2011? I already have a Maruszczyk Elwood 4 C as a main Jazz bass, but this made in Japan bass caught my eye.

I can honestly say that these are the only double P pickup basses that have ever interested me. The body has serious old school Burns bass vibes!
They are MEAN and HOT lots of output. Great tone too. One of my favorite mods. The FGN MP does double P right

Still, I say, from experience, these things are likely to be well worth the money — amazing skill in manufacture, attention to detail, musically, and alder under the hood often, which happens to be a favorite. The market looks to be ramping up, continually.
For me, the neo classics are, more or less, a mainstay. But this one, just [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] from here, catches the eye

I have ALWAYS wanted to try one of those!
I ended up installing a set of Nordstrands in this which sound great, obviously. The A string had a bit of a rattle so I swapped in a different string tree and it's off to the races. I'm absolutely tickled with this thing!
Can I play? Do we have a member list like all those other clubs? I bought this History ZJS-CFS during a port call in Sasebo in 2004. The only changes I've made were going to a passive VV/TT setup. The clear pickguard is in my closet, somewhere. It's been on and off a million times and I never have figured out which way I like it more.

IMO, I think it would be better with the PG off. That beautiful grain should have nothing in its way.
I ended up switching the Nords for EMG's, and I'm quite happy about it!
Part of the FGN Club, couple of weeks enjoying my new FGN Mighty Jazz in sunburst, black pick guard ... I was sold by the great reviews and the test done by LowEndLobster (by the way thanks)...sold my Fender Standard MIM 2010 and went Japanese.From a quality point of view: amazing, way above any Squier and even MIM Fenders, sound wise great pickups, not the most thrilling, but great going through my Katana (Japanese mood)
Negative points: quite heavy neck dive, I think due to the body shape (which I love), neck is great, but my previous Fender was better and easy to adjust, on the FGN I still cannot get the action as I like.
Overall, great instrument and a solid base to improvements.

Odd you say that, because I've been seriously considering selling my History. I've finally come to the realization that J basses just don't do it for me. Ps speak to me tonally and, yes, it's weird, but Tbirds are far more comfortable for my right hand to play. Go figure.
Just bought this second hand from a store in Australia. Always intrigued by the look of these basses. Can't find much on the net re the controls.... I'm guessing volume, blend, bass, mids and treble but not sure what the extra knob or switches do. Maybe active\passive, series\parallel and passive tone?
