You got me thinkin about that mismatched J dangit. I dunno... I love it so much out of the box, it would almost break my heart to change it. I love how your Barts sound, though, really great (so smoov), but we definitely seek different tones. I think the MJ has a big, thicc, "nu-metal/Korn" sound with the Seymours. My Stingray with the Herrick is very "Anthrax". I love em both!

If I end up gettin the MP, I would likely replace one of the pups. I'm def gonna join your Discord channel, 'cause I got some questions I'd like to put out there.

The DR Neons are not as bad as you might think! Sounds like decent nickel rounds, has a non-slick but also non-stick coating. Nice for pull-offs. Plenty of punch. Tension a bit on the bendy side. 8/10

I've been waiting for your review on the DE 5 string. I was a bit confused on the versions, my DE 5 has the neck adjustment at the top (same with the bass in the video), but the new ones are using the heel adjustment?

Correct, the new JMJ2 model which comes in standard (Duncans) and dark evo flavors has the truss adjustment at the heel of the neck.

Something I 100% agree with your review is the neck of the Mighty Jazz 5. It's was a surprise when I received the bass and compared to another Schecter, very different. Still they did a great job on the neck feel, it's perfect without a touch of smoothness issues.

Hey guys! I came across this FGN J-Standard for US$580. From the serial number it looks like it's from December 2012. Decent condition, only visible dent is on the headstock and scratches on the pickguard. My question on this bass is the J/J pickup configuration. I've searched through the internet and all I could find were J/M combos for J-Standards. Only the Boundary and Neo Classic series have J/J configurations. However the tuners, bridge, and string-through-body style made it look like a J-Standard.

Could this be from an older generation of J-Standard? Does anyone have any information on this or played this before? Thank you in advance, appreciate any help I can get!!!

Nice find! For $390 I say it's a good buy. I'm not sure about the pickup changes but honestly if I was looking for a FGN Jazz, I rather go with the traditional J style over the hum/J style.
