Fulltone Bass-drive MOSFET edition?

hahaha, I'm stealing that smiley. :D

I plan on 4 samples per pedal (each pedal gets two mild and two extreme setting samples, one each with single notes and the other with chords), and since I'm very comfortable with the Hematoma and pretty comfortable with the Blue Berry, once I get the Fulltone I hope to get the comparison out by year end.

I can tell you a few things already, although those that hang around this Effects forum are probably sick of hearing it by now:

The Hematoma is an awesome pedal for a wide range of tones, and considering the price is a Boss-and-a-half, everyone should own one. The Blue Berry, I'm fully convinced, houses a pair of 6550s inside its small (but mysteriously heavy) package.

A couple of days ago I tried the Hematoma at a local music store. It seemed to have a pretty warm overdriven tone, and was quite musical sounding to my ears. One issue for me is that I wasn't able to back off the gain enough to create a slight added grind like I can with the Drive control on my SVP-Pro. One thing that I'm definitely looking for in an overdrive pedal is the ability to run a fairly clean sound and get a bit of overdriven growl when I dig in.

Color me interested. Apparently the Mosfet switch ads bottom and gives a more warm and woolly tone. If this means it sounds like an EBS Multidrive that doesn't drink top end then it might be my new favorite pedal in the universe.

I got rid of the original bassdrive because I found it suited better for crisp, snappy tones then my already warm and round tone.

Okay, mine showed up today. :)

Initial impressions are that the MOSFET adds a little warmth, but there isn't a huge difference between that and the Standard mode. The Boost function is really cool because it doesn't change the overall volume. Lots of treble is retained as well as the bass. I like the F.M. setting because it just adds a bit of drive without the typical mid-bump, so it stays true to your original signal, just making it dirtier. Vintage mode does the typical mid-bump thing, sounds pretty good so far.

Oh yeah, mine is #19 and the new settings aren't even printed on the casing yet, they are just stickers, haha.

I can get the subtle overdrive if using a passive bass, but you can also try using the Pre-gain channel on the Hematoma and setting it low to achieve that with actives. Sort of a reverse boost setting I guess.

The bass was just sitting there but things got LOUD with all these lights on:

hahaha awesome.

I'll have the writeup done (including samples L@@K HTF OOP ***!!!) this weekend, and I haven't decided if I'm going to include the Neo Fuzz because it's an entirely different kind of flying, altogether. It's an entirely different kind of flying.

As you can tell, the clean tone is really retained. If your ears are really picky, you can tell that a slight bit of low end is lost, and the high end is slightly artificial (sounds like it gets put back rather than retained from the original signal), but in a double blind test you'd be extremely hard pressed to tell the difference, and that's with no other sounds around, like drums, guitars, vocals, trains, girlfriends, cats, etc.
