Is there any literature out there that someone would recommend for writing a successful funky bass line that lists common idiosyncrasies that define the style?

There are also things like trills and turns that I am specifically interested in. I need to avoid slapping if possible.
I downloaded Leibman's "Funk Bass" from Nook. It's covers everything I needed to know and then some. Thank you for the help.
