Second "get out"?! You did the right thing. I wonder what his young friend was thinking? "Thanks for the great lesson. Where's my bass??"

Actually IMO you were too polite for too long. I would have kicked them out long before you did
No, he is still in my basement, plucking away, with his spaceship pod with all the blinking lights, discussing with the cobwebs how the screws that hold the pickguard on really are a big factor in the "perfect tone".
I loved the story, however if it were me I would have told him to make me an offer. Then I would have laughed in his face. The upgraded parts alone cost you more then the $300 you want for the entire bass. And its not like you have a piece o'crap.
Like the other guys said, are you still selling it?
This made me happy. You must been a good person to do business with.I sold used cars, owned the lot and did very well. If a young couple came in with limited resources needing reliable transportation, I steered them toward the vehicles I thought (knew) would serve them well, and gave them the "friend" price. Wholesale, if you will.
Then there were the @$$holes who thought they knew everything about cars and how to take car salesmen 'to school.' Their theory is that the bigger @$$hole you are, the better deal you get. They paid full price, and often did not get good cars.
...up til then all ive had were the usual craigslist "tirekickers" and people who wanna trade for 50$, and empty 5 gallon fish tank, and a 1987 Ford Aerostar with a blown transmission, etc etc(im sure you all have been through this)..

Is really to the point that so many freaks, liars, hucksters, and swindlers are on CL that when an honest deal comes up no one believes it?
