Funny Things Your Dog Does

Every time I lay down om my couch, my dog comes up to me and keeps moving under my outstretched hand until I start petting him. If I stop, the process repeats.

If I move my hand closer to my body, he paws at my arm until I put it out again.

When I was around seven years old (I have had him since I was four years old), he started trying to talk like humans. He actually did manage to yelp out a few words that are common around the house once or twice.

When my dog was younger she learned to watch TV, I kid you not, though she'd still be a dog about it and get annoyed at seeing other dogs on the screen and try to find out where they were in the house so she could chase them out.
^_^

My dog does the same thing. There is one ad in particular where the dog seems distressed and it makes both of our dogs crazy. We have to turn the sound off when it comes on and they see the ad and still go crazy. At the start of the ad a guy picks up a set of keys, if the dogs even see this part they know what ad it is and go mental.

One of my dogs (a cocker spaniel) drags his bed around the house and puts it wherever he wants to sleep at that moment. In the daytime he drags it into the yard so he can sleep in the sun.

He's also a borderline alcoholic. He really loves Newcastle.

My dog snarls when she's really happy to see us. It scares people sometimes but she means no harm.

And she likes to put her paws on me too when I'm petting her. Sometimes she puts it in uncomfortable places and it feels like shes punching me.

Whenever I lie down to go to sleep, my dog decides that's the perfect time to ask for attention. I pet her softer and softer until I stop moving and hopefully by that time shes asleep.

She's part golden retriever but she hates water with a fiery passion.

Whenever we put the leash on for a walk, all I have to do is click it and she bolts. It's pretty annoying when I'm trying to put it on and i let it slip and it makes the sound, then she thinks its on and time to run.

For some reason she has to rub her back on the carpet every once in a while, like she's itching herself.

Whenever I act surprised at anything, she'll perk up her ears and just sit there perfectly still, and her tail slowly starts wagging, as long as I stay still. As soon as I move she runs over and nuzzles me.

I think what was meant is that the bolt was time to go for the walk, let's get started. I could be wrong tho.

I haven't had a dog in years (renting atm) but my last dalmatian smiled a lot and it really freaked some people out. He loved new people so whenever someone new was around it was time to smile for attention.

The dalmatian we had before him would take his metal bowl to the walkway and flip it, then push it around if dinner was late so you'd hear this god-awful noise coming from outside the house. It always reminded me of the prison movie scene where convicts bang their cups on the bars for attention.

Funny story with the first one. My father saved up money to take us to Disney World and the night before we left the dog caught a cat and killed it (he would do so by grabbing them and shaking them to death, he really hated cats). In the wee hours of the morning the dog started screaming and wouldn't stop, had to be taken to the vet. So off we go, 3 kids completely freaked out because our dog had to be taken to the animal hospital. The entire vacation was like: Want to ride the roller coaster? How is Sam? Hey look there's Mickey! How is Sam? Would you like a Disney shirt? How is Sam? I know it peeved my father to no end. How did the dog turn out? Well, my father left his mother in charge of the dog and told her if the vet said it was bad to put him under. So the vet called and said it was bad, and she threatened him with a lawsuit if the dog died. She home cooked the dog 2 meals a day and delivered them, and a couple of weeks later when we got home he was waiting for us and wagging his tail off. He was named Sam for Samson. I never understood why with all that short hair. The only one who didn't get a happy ending was the cat. Damned cat screwed up a perfectly cute story.
