I need some tips about how to change the strings, since I never changed them yet. I already read a lot about that and watched a lot of videos, but I still have doubt about a couple of things.
First, since I have to take off all of the strings in order to be able to clean the fretboard properly, when I restring the bass I have to put one string and tune it to the right pitch, then put another string and do the same work, and so on?
Or I have to put on all the strings tighten them just a little and tune them when all of them are on the bass?
And second thing, my truss rod is a little loose, so the string tension is higher, and it will be even more higher since the new strings have a little heavier gauge than my current. I don't want to break nor the new strings, neither the truss rud. Can be a good idea to tighten the truss rod before I change the strings, of course with my current strings on, to prevent an extra tension to the new strings? Or is useless?
