hey guys ,(i posted this in the gk club too )cheers
i use a gk fusion 550 and am having an issue with the gain pot, i am getting a loud popping noise right at 7 /7.30 o'clock mark but only with with a signal being passed, as in it isn't making a typical noisy pot sound of scratching with or with out a signal. This poping is only occuring at this position when passing thru(turning knob),
it is not the bass or leads these have been checked , and occurs regardless of bass or lead.
the pop is quite forceful even with master at 7 oclock into a 8 ohm 115 , or tried it at the shop into a 4 ohm 4x10 ,(shop dude shat his pants)
i am getting the local music store to chase this up (where i purchased the amp) as its all under warranty .i took the amp home as they make some phone calls ,and they asked if i could jump on the net as well to try and reduce time apart from the amp..their not lazey just we all know how long at the tech shop can be...
So i know with a Full valve amp there are does and donts as with running the amp with /with out a load, these dont apply as this is a ss power section but does the pre amp valves not like being turned from 0 gain to on ? i hasnt been an issue before ....sounds silly but gotta ask i guess.
love this amp no issues untill this mornings practise ,i probly upset the gods of bass by using mixed drivers ....no this is not the (this) issue ...
thanks ppl you all rock .
peace.
