Future Impact now available!! WAS: deep impact reissue!!! interested?

Well that saves me asking about the octave sounds then :) I am itching to get hold of an FI now, can't wait for batch 2...

ficelles

Yeah, I kept A/B'ing them to make sure I wasn't losing my mind. I'll hafta do some tweaking to the FI patch, but I wouldn't be shocked if I just used the FI for all of my octave down needs as well as the synth stuff. The filter patches aren't bad either. My Wonderlove still sounds a bit fuller, but it is a dedicated filter, so it should, lol! I'll be playing and knob twiddling more when I get home from work tonight...

It also has the capability of performing as dirt pedal. Turn the VCO and Harmonizer down, use the dirt controls in the Harmonizer section, then the effects section for EQ, you can even blend your bass and dirt into a bypassed LPF (or a static HPF to only feed dirty high end), which then both feed into the EQ, and then.... finally.... yet another clean bass blend through the final mixer.

Point being there's probably a lot of opportunities to leverage the FI as a general multieffects box in addition to the synthy stuff thanks to all of the routing / mixing opportunities.

Ok, after reading manual, playing with pedal for few days (have 8 months old boy so, it's hard to find time)
I have to say, you guys did a great job, I'm following this topic for long time now and having FI here is the impression.

When I first opened the box, I plugged it in and realized that is a great pedal so I made a small demo, went to play NY eve, came back played for few hours and realized that it's even better pedal then last time I've played it.

Went to read manual and realized that it's now my favorite pedal, even batter then before reading manual.

Now, I hooked it on computer, realized that this is some other wold I need to learn.

Is there an end of admiring?

Touch sensitivity is great (specially if you make it as you play the bass)
Sounds are deep, full, rich... and endless possibilities
Comparing it to Deep Impact is like comparing something that came out of something, like wheel and car.

Hope to see more inventions from Panda-audio guys

@Andras Szalay @Gabor_Gerenyi @lokki GREAT JOB GUYS!

I am presuming there will be some sort of forum where people can share FI patches? It is probably out there now but I cannot see it. I looked at the Panda Audio site and saw nothing. Thanks everyone who has made this little box of fabulousness :)
there will be, yes! to my knowledge it does not yet exist...

that honors me, thanks :-)

In for batch two! Bit more than I spent on the Octavius, but no worries. I'm just super stoked on the low current draw. Thanks big time! Too bad I will be unable to use it at my first gig with the new band. There a synth guitar line in a recording I can probably take over. Unless our search for keys works out.

Yeah, there already is a forum where people can share patches and several have already offered to do so... In fact, you just posted in it.

You're being facetious... :D It doesn't translate well on the Internet. ;)

Hmm February seems a long way off.

and some even shared their patches...albeit a little bit hidden :-)

This is the best synth pedal period. @Andras Szalay You did it once and you did it twice! I'm so glad you made something out of evolution and not nostalgia! Please never stop making devices. I just hope the next one doesn't come up so quickly as I'm already broke.
It surely is a good time to be a musician!

Hi, FI... I'm having a rough time opening the files associated with the Editor.. My Windows 7 Won't open the file extensions .ocx. .dat, or. ldr.. HElp!!! lol. I dont have Word or perhaps lack some other common windows programs.. please advise

The "readme" file will have everything you need to know. But basically you need to re-write a couple of the files with ".exe" on the end rather than ".ex".

Read the file and it says exactly which ones.

did you read the 1readme.doc? can you open that? you don't need to open any of those files you mentioned. just rename FIboot04.Ex to FIboot04.Exe and FIProg100b.Ex to FIProg100b.Exe. run FIProg100b.Exe for the editor. the other one is only for firmware upgrade...

haha, i have that one. never thought about using it as a midi interface. it is normally used to make a usb-midi device din-midi capable... does it work the other way around as well? i can try. but i am not even sure it works with anything else then the soft step from the same maker...
