Future Impact now available!! WAS: deep impact reissue!!! interested?

I believe you can fudge the FCB1010 into doing NRPN. Remember NRPN is a combination of 3 CC messages. You can use the first footswitch to send the MSB and LSB. Then just set your expression pedal or other button to controller 6. So you can use the footswitches to set what you're going to change and then another button or the pedal to actually alter that parameter.

With NRPN you can use controller 38 for fine adjustments.
Agree, there are always alternatives, imagine that you have a patch with delay and you want to toggle it, there are two ways of doing it, one create a twin patch without delay and simply program change it, or you have to press 2 switches to toggle. That's more simply to send a single cc

Yeah, I finally made it through all the presets, and now I am diving into the manual in preparation for cracking open the editor. From reading everyone else's comments, I think I will be working on understanding the editor for a while since I'm really green to synth programming.

It's a bit intimidating when you first open it purely due to the massive amount of parameters offered. But in general it's fairly straightforward once you finally understand the workflow (which basically left-to-right as displayed). But there's a few potential gotchas like the SAW volume and the various mixers along the way that can trip you up until you get the hang of things. Lokki had a great suggestion to open some of his patches that sound like you might want and explore from there, leveraging the existing patches for your learning experience.

BTW super kudos to @Andras Szalay for taking on this project and suffering through our complaints / suggestions / nit picks. :)

Honestly, I do not know what was the purpose of this demo. If it was to compare if the identical programs of the two pedals sounds identical, then the demo is wrong. You can see on the video that the parameters are set to totally random values on both devices. Of course the sounds are very different.
In my demo I wanted to prove that the 9 sounds are absolutely identical on the two devices, and nobody complained about that. If you want to repeat my demo to check this yourself then go ahead, do it, but do it under the same circumstances. This means, before the recording I performed a parameter reset on both devices, setting all parameters of all sounds to the default value, 5.

I'm buying your new pedal I'm on the list for the second batch
Just want to make sure that is clear.

But there is a certain sweetness from the sounds of the deep impact that aren't coming across the future impact - in those videos - are you saying the difference in what we hear is just programming and nothing to do with the physical hardware or algorithms in the FI?

I think that is what Andras is saying. Did you catch Andras' original video where he compared the sounds back to back?

I think everyone is super duper excited about the Future impact . I'm waiting in line for the second batch !!!

I think the critics out there are all coming from the perspective of "can our experiences help you make this product even better?"

I'm buying a FI v1
And I would be more than willing to buy an FI v2 if an even better version comes around and a v3 and so forth

Here is my request for enhancements right now, I want it polyphonic !!!!

These demos are not suited at all to compare the two devices, since although identical programs are recalled, they are modified with different parameters randomly. Look at my demo, if you hear a difference there between the two devices, then they are different. I do not hear a difference, and nobody else heard either.

I agree with you.

+1 agreed. No difference at all.

To be honest everyone would've been happy with a straight clone of the original, to have an extra 90 sounds, midi & an editor is great work on your part.
I don't regret swapping my DI for it at all.
The only downside is the DI feels better made, but that's my only gripe.

I had the deep impact for a long time and now own the FI. The deep impact pales in comparison as to what the FI has the ability to do. No contest here. The DI does not sound better, doesn't haven't vintage mojo, blah blah blah...

I think people who still own DI's want this rumor to spread so they can still sell their DI at a premium rate. Then they'll probably buy the FI! Lol!

I finally got a chance to spend some time with the FI and with the editor. Holy mother of %*#*%!*<*}*#!!!! This pedal ROCKS!!! I have a gig tonite and I just did some quick patches for some 80's tunes. I cannot wait to try them in battle tonight.

Andras, if I was going to have another child, I would name him after you. Thank you thank you thank you! This pedal is incredible and I barely have opened the capabilities of what it can do!

WOW!!!!

If they end up working well, would you mind sharing them? Thank you!

I'm actually digging the octave patch on the FI more than my 3Leaf Octabvre! This pedal is AH-MAZING! I went through all the patches and I'm so excited. The majority of the patches are useful without even being edited!

So now, I go back thru all the patches, find the sounds I need/want/desire, and get them ready to rock!

@Andras Szalay, I cannot begin to thank you enough for everything! It is, truly, an honor to be amongst the first to own the Future Impact! The Future Impact will end up being even more legendary than the DI...

Well that saves me asking about the octave sounds then :) I am itching to get hold of an FI now, can't wait for batch 2...

I absolutely will.

I have a feeling the patch I made for "Just can't get enough" maybe a little bass heavy. I will see tonight.

I need to readjust the levels for the vco levels for the "take on me" (Aha) patch. I was getting some minor glitches if I wasn't extremely careful with my technique. Then I read in the manual if your vco levels add up to over 127, it will glitch /distortion. So I just need to make some adjustments.

Fun fun! Good times!

Agreed when using it with an octave pedal. I fed the FI a signal from my mxr octave deluxe and it worked and sounded great! Oh the possibilities!!
