Future Impact now available!! WAS: deep impact reissue!!! interested?

not to complaine at all. But with that much room iside of the FI you could of made the chassi the same size as the Octavius Squeezer and it would be a heck of alot more pedal board friendly.

For th record i am loving this pedal and havent even entered the editting side of the pedal.

And the pedalboard shot!

After receiving my Future Impact on Monday, I've now had 3 evenings to learn it (the very basics so far) and noodle around with factory presets. So far, I'm quite floored by the quality of the sounds, the tracking (especially on non-D.I. patches) and the build of the box. @lokki sent me the Mac editor so I'm looking forward to being able to start playing with that this weekend after I buy some midi cables and also looking forward to playing the pedal through my SVT.

All in all, extremely happy with the purchase and with the whole sales experience--from initial discovery, i.e. when @lokki started this thread, to formal announcement from @Andras Szalay to purchase to delivery--all went quite far smoother than we've unfortunately come to expect from boutique one-off builds like this.

Yup. That's why I said before too bad an alphanumeric lcd wasn't squeezed in.
would be a whole different story to address an alphanumeric display with the processor, costs again would be higher. also, making the box smaller would obscure the display when you tap the switches with your foot on a pedalboard, no? that said I would of course also love a small case...:)

Could someone please confirm the total cost, including shipping, for a U.S. buyer to buy this pedal?

I'm reading the info in the first post to mean the total is 342 Euro, since VAT is not needed for U.S. import. Is that correct? That would be roughly $370 total at the current exchange rate.

If I've missed this info, sorry - I checked the first post and about 10 pages back from the end.

It was roughly $400 with the PayPal conversion rates.

The deep impact sounds much richer in harmonics
Honestly, I do not know what was the purpose of this demo. If it was to compare if the identical programs of the two pedals sounds identical, then the demo is wrong. You can see on the video that the parameters are set to totally random values on both devices. Of course the sounds are very different.
In my demo I wanted to prove that the 9 sounds are absolutely identical on the two devices, and nobody complained about that. If you want to repeat my demo to check this yourself then go ahead, do it, but do it under the same circumstances. This means, before the recording I performed a parameter reset on both devices, setting all parameters of all sounds to the default value, 5.

Just got mine.
Parameter knob feels cheap & wobbly, & its much more annoying to use than the deep impact one.

Unfortunately the parameter potentiometer is not cheaper at all as the detent potentiometer of the Deep Impact, with 11 detents. No manufacturer sells detent potentiometers from the stock. I spent three months to find a manufacturer who is willing to produce for me a few hundred of these, but the minimum quantity was 5000 pieces. That was out of my reach.

Yeah I know and totally understand. I would have paid more for alphanumeric but I'm probably in the minority. Seems like a lot of you already have midi switchers on your pedal board so it's a non issue. It wasn't an issue with me with the original DI since it was only a few presets to remember, but now it's a whole other ballgame with the increased presets, a wonderful problem to have too!

Lovin this pedal!!

I currently use a MIDI Mouse as a MIDI controller. It also just shows numbers. :) I'm still waiting for an affordable, small MIDI controller with alpha display and integrated tap tempo and MIDI Clock creation. Otherwise off the top of my head a Roland FC-300 or trying to use a multieffect box as a MIDI Controller (most have alpha display and MIDI out capabilities) is my current suggestion. I've seen others using phones/tablets and MIDI software as their master controller. I've never tried that, nor does it seem practical for many for stage use, but there's plenty of mic stand adapters for mobile devices so it's physically possible.

Welcome to the complicated world of trying to harness seemingly simple 1980's MIDI serial technology into your 2015 rig. :)

The PEAK controllers are pretty affordable.

High-end with per-button LCDs will be the Liquid-Foots and the RJMs but they are in a different price range.

My setup is not cheap, but I use the iPad method. I'm mostly on stages where I can use a music stand, so this works fine. I run a Livid Guitar Wing by Bluetooth into the iPad running MIDI Designer, then connected via Bluetooth to a Zivix PUC+. So basically, I have as much control as you could possibly want with MIDI Designer, extra "live" control at my fingertips with the Guitar Wing, but limited foot control. And that works for me pretty well, although I can see how it wouldn't be the first choice of a lot of other people.

Ok, I've read the manual, most doubts vanished. Some questions.. The vco block is a phase accumulator digital osc type? The multiple waveforms per vco are obtained by multiplying wavetables or analog like sort of mixing? Is possible to hard sync vcos? The effect block is pick a one effect or multiple choose are allowed?
I understand that nrpn is much more midi adherent but I don't found an affordable midi pedal board that manages nrpn, like the ubiquitous Behringer fcb1010 that can send only 2 cc per switch. I think it's better to remap to standard cc, or will be necessary to use an external midi mapper, that increase the costs. Thank you for patience

Yeah, I finally made it through all the presets, and now I am diving into the manual in preparation for cracking open the editor. From reading everyone else's comments, I think I will be working on understanding the editor for a while since I'm really green to synth programming.

I believe you can fudge the FCB1010 into doing NRPN. Remember NRPN is a combination of 3 CC messages. You can use the first footswitch to send the MSB and LSB. Then just set your expression pedal or other button to controller 6. So you can use the footswitches to set what you're going to change and then another button or the pedal to actually alter that parameter.

With NRPN you can use controller 38 for fine adjustments.
