For some reason, the MIDI channel is done on a patch-by-patch basis. Is there any chance that you changed the MIDI channel on Program 54?

That's definitely the right diagnosis. Program 54 will only change to the next program when the midi mouse is on channel 2, all the other programs accept all midi channels. I'm convinced I didn't make that change, I don't have the editor yet.

Okay, so any ideas how I fix this ? Doing the 'reset all' from the quickstart guide hasn't helped any ?

Okay, thanks. Wasn't planning on doing that soon, but it looks like I need to due that to fix this anomaly (If I set the midi mouse to channel 2, I'm sure it will lead to confusion down the line.) I would still like to figure out how it happened ... I think it must have been delivered that way.

I would actually set the MIDI mouse to channel 2 and see how it works out for you. I'm pretty sure the presets were all set to Omni when I received mine, meaning they listen to all channels. So long as it doesn't interfere with other midi devices you have connected to the mouse and so long as you don't have a few presets on the Future Impact listening on channel 1 (or anything other than Omni and 2) then setting the mouse to 2 will get you covered until you have a chance to use the editor.

Played with resolution but its set as high as it can be (switching doesn't help) - not missing too much of the editor but its bothering the heck outta me. Im on a 13" macbook pro - seems like you can't resize the window at all

I Have just started with the editor and am having a really hard time getting the envelope to open and shut in a really pronounced fashion. Anyone got any tips? I am also using the original editor not the "flash harry" one I see everyone else is using, How do I open the new updated version, or do I need a particular app to open the new one?

I think this has something to do how OSX handles the high resolution of the retina display for application windows not having natively this high resolution.
Try going to the system system preference panel "display" and change the resolution to "scaled" with the most right option ("more space" or something). Sorry my OSX system language is german, so I'm not quite sure what it is in english. This did it for me.

In the official editor available from the Panda site (seen in screenshots immediately above) you need to adjust the following:

* Input (which is the VCF Input mixer, though it doesn't explicitly say that): set to something, otherwise nothing is going into the filter at all. If you're just trying to filter your bass, turn everything down/off except the Bass input.
* Filter Type (top right corner): Something other than OFF
* VCF Attack / Decay: These control the filter speed, shorter Attack for quackier and instant downswept stuff, longer for more drawn out filter movement. Set short Decay if you're playing fast notes as I believe the Decay has to reach 0 before another Attack will be executed by the box
* Modulation AD: Sets the depth (amount) of the filter movement
* Main: turn up the VCF or you won't hear any filter in your output at all

You can also adjust the other Modulation parameters as they are all directly applied to the VCF. Not sure why it's labeled generically as "modulation" as it doesn't apply to anything other than the VCF.

I personally find the fact that all of the VCF features are split up and placed all over the place instead of right next to each other in a single, common VCF block.

Also, if you're trying to filter the Harmonizer, note that it's visual block is towards the end and concludes the the Distortion block. Which then feeds back up into the VCF Input as "Dist". It can be a little confusing as visually it makes it seem like the Harmonizer is at the end of the chain, but it's really in parallel with the VCO which can then both feed into Input mixer for the VCF.

Yea just tried this and the message took in terminal, but didn't change the size..supposedly this stopped working after Lion OS X

yeah, this is a "bug" in the sound nr. 54. it was never set to omni but instead is set at 2 as you found out. you will have to open the sound in the editor adjust the channel there and reload it to the f.i.

I've discovered a weird bug, or at least a bad interaction, between the FI and midi mouse. The FI gets stuck at program 54.

The FI is set to direct mode, and the midi mouse gives me the option to cycle up or down easily through the programs. Trouble is, if I go up or down through 54 (as shown on the FI) the FI gets stuck at that number, and will only move off it id I use the buttons on the FI, at which point all goes back to normal.

It's perfectly repeatable. And powering off the FI doesn't get rid of the behaviour.

Anyone else see this weirdness with program 54 ?

That is right, we recognized this just a few days ago too, this is an accidental mistake in Program 54. I will send to Gabor for uploading a default program folder with corrected program 54 that is set to omni just like all other programs. This shows that it was a mistake to make MIDI channel a program parameter, I admit, it should be global. No problem, we will change MIDI channel to global parameter in version 1.10. I will also upload version 1.01 for now, this is ready. This addresses two fixes: 1. On most devices (or probably all) detent position 10 (LEVEL) is slightly off from the graphical line on the foil. This is corrected now. 2. During factory tests of the second series the wheel on some devices was prelling. I cannot remember this problem in the first series. Now I enhanced the prell elimination algorithm, so it tolerates a wider quality range of wheels (although we use exactly the same wheel as for the first series).
