That is the best argument for true bypass, although I already have buffered pedals in my chain, so I have a power supply issue mid-song, it's already a problem.

This is the opposite of my logic. I want a bypass---true or high-quality buffered---that makes me not worry about using it in a looper.

This really depends on your gig and application. Perhaps your needs are different for your gig. I don't have a choice for my gig because I play bass on keys as well as bass guitar. I use my switcher to switch from bass and keys and use different combinations of pedals that is easier to trigger by pressing one button rather than two or 3. Also I do not want my keys going through my pedals. Different strokes for different folks.

For example, When I used to have my deep impact, even though it was true bypass, I still had it in a switchable loop because there were tunes I used it in conjunction with an octave pedal. So as I said before, easier to press one button than two.

However I do realize I'm probably in the minority here. Regardless, in the end.... I just want the freakin pedal!!!! LMAO! I miss my deep impact. :(

I have four which have multiple selectable bypass options---my two Eventides, my Line6 M5, and my Source Audio Manta. Maybe not for large multis (e.g., the Boss GT series), but I think for small "multis" it might actually be rather common. Either that or I have a LOT of the exceptions.

Right, I understand all of the reasons for loopers, and why some people prefer them. What I'm saying is that for me, I don't want to waste more money/space on a looper than I absolutely have to. So I have one 1590A sized single-switch looper for my two current synth pedals (Behringer BSY600 and Digitech Bass Synth Wah), because I don't think their bypass quality is great. If this unit happens, I hope it will replace these two pedals for me, so I would hope it also replaces the looper---either by being true bypass, or by being buffered bypass that doesn't require a looper.

if it would be true bypass again it would be relay switched again as jazzad said. it is mainly a cost issue. (and it needs more power to switch a relay)

ok. it will be without 9v battery and WITH true bypass. if powered from mains wall he can use a cheaper relay!

one problem is the power supply. is it ok if it ships without one? it would be our standard boss style 9v adapter. the reason is again cost and mainly the difficulty to ship to many different countries which all have their own power standard and different main plugs. i'm ok with it. i think everybody has either a spare supply or a custom solution allready. (power brick etc.)

Keep costs down w/o power supply, absolutely.

What sort of power draw are we talking about, 9V center-negative ??? ma?
