Let me know a few examples and I’ll see if I can have a crack at them as part of the programming I’m doing for v3. I’d be making them available for free and they wouldn’t be available until v3 is released though.

Just trying to replicate the zapp and Roger synth bass lines on mainly the two tracks dance floor and so ruff so tuff, I'm getting in the ballpark with default setting 69 and just editing using the parameters on the pedal but it's not perfect, i know it can easily be done I'm just not synth savvy :(

Happy to pay for the work either way, keep me posted! :O

I reckon they can be done. Have you had a listen to some that I’ve programmed already? There’s one which sounds close to one of the tracks you suggested.

I'm starting to program some patches for a cover band I'm sorry if this is a dumb question but is there a way to do portamento/glissando without a MIDI keyboard? I can fake it if I bend notes but it's not the real deal. I'm also trying modulating the VCO with the LFO but it's hard to approximate a natural portamento.

No, there isn’t. I asked for this feature to be added to v3 but was told it won’t be.

I run FI through my rig (Taurus TN115 350W and Markbass Little Tube 800). The cab has 8ohms and I will have to buy another one with 8ohms so the power that amp gives is fully utilized.

At first I thought 4x10 cab will do the job but I started wondering about where bass synths (like Moog etc) are usually plugged in. They usually go to the PA, not a bass guitar cab.

I realized that I use FI more than 50% of all time for my sound (in one of my projects ~90%)

This led me to thinking about buying wide-frequency loudspeaker (or whatever they are called) and pairing it with my current bass cab. The reason is not the upper frequencies lost through bass cab's horn, but the sub bass. Bass guitar cabinets are not really designed to provide sub bass frequencies. I mean, the 60-70hz "thump" is there (in my current bass cab), but not as much as I would like. EQ-ing these low frequencies pushes my cab to its limits and I'm afraid I can destroy the speaker at some point. Or maybe I should buy another 15 inch bass cab but with more power?
I sometimes hear my keyboard player having better sub response on his loud/monitor speaker. Basically FI sounds better/full on this kind of speaker (obviously, upper frequencies too!). I was playing at one place where the cab (not mine) started to smell bad (like something was burned in the oven) because I went 60% volume and had to decrease to about 40% and then it was fine. So I plugged straight to the mixing desk and played like that couple of times which was OK.

So my question is, what do you plug your FI into? Is it something different than bass/guitar cabinet? Would you buy separate speaker to sound more "full" if you had the money? If yes, what would you buy?

I have also seen speaker solely made for sub bass (had 8ohms and 700W, which I think was part of bigger venue PA system) - has anyone had experience with that?

I know that some people will say to just DI into mixing desk/PA available but please note some venues simply don't have that.

Our keys player (using a Moog Voyager live along with several other boards) is going DI though he's using a few pedals in the middle then using a stage monitor. Another good friend and touring keys player is using a Rogue that's been modded (down an octave) and he uses a MB LM800 Tube into a Markbass 115+210 then DI'ed out to FOH. But then he's also using live amps (mostly Mesa) for his clav & other boards.

My FI is part of my pedal-board and signal chain, but I'm using a crossed-over, high wattage rig, so I get pretty full range if I want.

Yep. Agreed. Some of the features in the C4 are really attractive looking. I'm holding out to see what the 'big' update is all about, but when it comes to synths on my board 'There can be only one.'
