Just a quick heads up before I return this midi-usb cable...in case I’m doing it wrong.

usb to computer, midi out connector from cable to midi in on the FI and midi in connector from cable to midi out on FI. Open the editor and it should see it, right? I’m getting a connectivity error

Yes. You need to connect the interface before you launch the editor.

What interface is it? Is it on the list of tested devices in the manual?

What are you trying to do?

Seriously, just do the update via the google browser app, it’s very clear.

I know there are some pretty elaborate midi setups out there. How are you guys editing and testing at the same time?

The Roland has arrows on it, it’s really clear which plug goes in each port.

If it had been plugged in the wrong way around, he would have got a “communication error” popup. The fact that the update process starts and hangs suggests that the interface can’t handle the data volume of the update.
