Future Impact now available!! WAS: deep impact reissue!!! interested?

This came in today!!! Pandamidi was kind enough to add a midi CV gate cable for a smidgen of a delay due to bad postal workers lol. Thanks again!! Just took this pic and going to go plug in now and test it out. Been waiting to own this pedal since V1 and now it's time...

Thanks, this did it for me.
The connector indeed says "Connect to MIDI IN", what a poor design choice, lol..
I disagree; it tells the user exactly where to put it. The only thing is that the text is quite small. I think the arrows are pretty clear though.

In any case, I’m glad it’s working for you now.

Does anyone know if there Is any further development on the synthesizer's features and is there a roadmap?
Yes and yes.

It’s been discussed earlier in the thread since the launch of V4.

There are more updates to the tracking in progress.

There are only two of the four available apps in use on the pedal currently. Over the next few years, the remaining two will be populated.

(The original pedal was updrafts steadily over 6 years; a similar thing will happen with v4.)

Awesome 👍

Hi, the editor keeps crashing under OSX. I copied the error report, can I send this somewhere?

Ohh and I got the C4 but going to send it back, the Future Impact has better tracking and the synth sounds better to me. It would be great if they could catch up on the synth features at one point.

@Andras Szalay might also chime in here.

I sometimes struggle finding good bass synth or lines to inspire myself to creat patches on the FI. This band its great and they have inspired me a lot recently. They are heavily bass & synth driven, and very good musicians.

I’m not sure I ever thanked you for drawing my attention to this band. I have become a huge fan since hearing this last year and bought all their albums.

Let me return the favour:

I used Loopy Pro to create an interface for tweaking parameters on the FI4. I couldn't attach it, so here's a Google Drive link -

Through midi cc and NRPN it covers nearly everything related to VCOs, VCA, VCF, LFOs. I have not yet integrated the effects.

Does anyone know if, when I change a preset, I can get the FI4 to send info to my iPad? Preset name would be great. Less likely, but great, would be to get the values and to change the knobs accordingly.

Some ways I want to improve it:
  1. Since VCO tuning uses the knob and not something stepped, it's difficult to dial in a specific value and a pain to find 0;
  2. I need layout tips. This made sense for a v1 but I'm sure it could be better and easier to understand and use;
  3. Would be cool to change sections of the page or gray out irrelevant knobs based on other settings - but this is a Loopy Pro issue
  4. Bass blend is imperfect. I used VCF mixer volume, which, for most of my presets works effectively as a bass volume blend, but with other presets I get no volume. I need something more reliable;
  5. I couldn't figure out how to make portamento work
  6. Add MIDI mappings so I can change with bluetooth footswitch.
  7. Add the rest of the functions, like FX.

Preset name and parameter values are part of the preset data/NRPN implementation and are covered in the NRPN document that has been shared in this thread. You can use the same info the editor uses to query these data.

Feeling dumb. I can't figure it out.

The doc says that there is a program dump that gives file name and, I assume, parameters, but I can't figure out how to request it and I don't see a sysex or midi command to request it. That's covered in the first few paragraphs.

My MIDI scope app receives the Program Change message when I do it on the pedal, but nothing else, ie no parameters. I'm not getting a SYSEX dump when I use SYSEX Librarian - which doesn't make sense since I can get it to sync with the editor.

Here are the first few lines of the doc I found in this thread. I assume this is the correct one - it's what I've been using to create the interface in Loopy Pro.
