Future Impact now available!! WAS: deep impact reissue!!! interested?

Many customers requested that they would like to have a video tutorial. We started to record a series of small video chunks that are easy to follow and contain all the most important things that users should know about the Future Impact. Here is a Youtube Playlist, containing the first two pieces, Unboxing and Setlist.

Considering the highly technical nature of the pedal, small bites are probably recommended. Thanks!

does anyone know if the height measurements provided of the Future Impact 4.5 VIP include the knobs? trying to see if I can fit one underneath

The switches are higher than the knobs. But I guess it depends how much room you have underneath your pedal board to decide whether it will fit. Go back a few pages, golem posted a picture of the profile for the VIP4 showing the height different between the switches and the knobs

Also perhaps worth seeking out one from the first batch with the lower-profile switches.

I have a FI v1 with an additional "Future Compact" housing that makes it smaller. I'd love to upgrade to the latest VIP version. Would be interested in moving it @MADChuudoku and putting the funds towards the new one... bought it new from Panda, it's never been gigged, and the original housing is 100% mint. All boxes and papers, included. Send me a PM if interested!

thanks! I did have a V1 in the past (think I even still have the same printed compact enclosure somewhere!) but I think its purely the new features that are making me return to the fold - thanks for the offer though

The Future Impact Editor on Mac is an Intel Application. These kind of application will not work anymore in the next version of MacOS. Is there a plan to upgrade to An Apple Silicon version of the editor ?
Could you run the Windows version in an emulator on the Mac? I know Andras did this when we were at Superbooth in 2022.

updated to 4.51 ... all went well I thought... boots up and shows 4.51 - VA mode works fine, FM mode has no output sound. Have I missed something in one of addendum's.
My dear Luke, I had higher expectations of you. 😂

As per the popup instructions in the update process, you need to initialise the presets in the global menu after the install. (You can either just reset the FM presets or reset everything (all).)

Reapplied and sent screenshot - it’s a Mac bug - for anyone else with the same problem the addendum 4.5 install guide lists out the steps including the one that isn’t clear
I reported this to Zsolt last night after you shared it. It’s minor but will hopefully be fixed in the not-too-distant future.

Finally, a new owner of v4 VIP - But I'm not sure I love it better than V1 updated to 3.61.
Converted a few of my most used presets using the v4 editor, and I have two issues:
1. Presets don't sound the same - yes, I've made sure the on-board settings are on default positions
2. It doesn't track as well as V1

1. I use mostly Quatschmacher presets downloaded from online FI library. Some presets seem very off - Thriller for example, then Just Can't Stop Myself.
Very different on V4 - I've checked both presets in V3 and V4 editors - all settings are the same (as I've said, v3 presets were converted to v4 using the editor).
Is this expected, or I did something wrong during the conversion?

2. Hear me out - I recall this being mentioned before, but I've tried everything that I could think of, but - V4 just doesn't track as well as V1. I've got note off level set to 7, note on to 5 on V1. On V4, I set the note off quite high, but it really doesn't matter where it's set - it doesn't seem to make a big difference.
Playing staccatto, fast runs, ghost notes, even octaves work great on v1. On V4 - not that it doesn't track well (because it really does), but playing exactly the same thing, it seems a bit off - it's not the priority mode (I tried all three settings), it seems less acurrate - like it is - I dont' know - "disconneccted" a bit? I've played the v1 since the begining (mine is serial #81) so I know it very well. V4 is really different in this regard.

I'm sure this one is definitely on me so please point me in the right direction - what can I do to make it track better?

Sorry for a wall of text, I want to love the V4, but at this point it doesn't seem like a step up for me. Please help me change my mind :).
