Future Impact now available!! WAS: deep impact reissue!!! interested?

any controller that outputs pc messages should work
Thanks, I am flattered that you believe I can make sense of those "pc messages" words but sadly I cannot:( I need someone to point me to a pedal that I can just plug in and say "whoa, crazy control things are happening!". I have found a ProStage Controller Pedal XCC ProStage Intros MIDI Foot Controller Line so far.

Or this MIDI Solutions Pedal Controller; Continuous MIDI Data Generator

Or this sonuus - Music Products Designed in the UK

Hi, have you had any replys from Andras reagarding the pricing yet?

My situation is a bit diferent, i'm im Potugal (EU) so i know i'll be paying VAT but my contry's VAT is only 23% and that's what i need to be charged for. Another issue that nobody addressed yet is the shipping charges, will everybody receive their unit with 27€ of P&P? Surely i'll pay a bit less living closer than US? I can get the pedal with land transport while you need it to be carried by air.

For the USD-EUR exchange, you will never get the going rate that is shown on various services such as XE.com or Oanda.com. FX traders may get very close to these rates, but that is their job. Banks and retailers add a good margin to those rates, but for sure you will most likely get a better rate from a bank than a service like paypal or those over the counter jobs at the airport.

If I am not mistaken, FedEx purchased TnT earlier this year, so buyers outside of Europe will likely receive the delivery from FedEx.

FedEx to buy TNT Express for $4.8 billion

Looks like Hungary has the highest VAT rate in Europe. Most of the other countries are in the range of 20-23%. In Spain, my rate should be 21%, so if I don´t get a refund to match the actual rate, then I am out about 20 EUR. And while it has a relatively small impact for me, I agree with others, Paypal should be sophisticated enough to automatically calculate this based on the delivery destination and charge accordingly.

2015 EU VAT rates for all 28 EU member countries

All of the comments about VAT, exchange rate, shipping method, etc., aside, I think it is fantastic that Panda has made these pedals available to TB members earlier than originally promised. This is a rare feat in this market and the TB community is appreciative.

OK, I'm almost there... One question seems important: IIRC the site says "free software updates" - does this mean that the firmware updates are free or only the PC/Mac software?

Is it even possible to update the firmware?

Asking, because this is probably the most major consideration for whether to wait. Will we be "stuck" with version 1.0, or will we continue to get updates, laughing at the herds of bassists waiting for the next batches?

Looks like you want a midi expression controller. Check out the Source Audio Reflex.

I believe it has been said that the firmware will be updated for free via the editor, the Future Impact does not have a USB port so you will need to update it via audio interface with MIDI ports connected to your PC.

it is definitely possible to update the firmware!!! I've done it 20 times already :) and yes both firmware and software updates will be free!

Dear Friends,

First af all I have to say a big thank you, orders are flowing constantly and it means you respect our efforts - so, thank you, guys. Thank you.

Second, I would like to answer a few questions emerged.

1. Shipping fee is flat, worldwide. 27 EUR for everybody. Simplicity is cool :) (We loose a bit on overseas sales but it's our problem.)

2. VAT should be added for everybody and will be refunded soon for the non-EU citizens. If you have any problem, doubt just write an email to me (contact address can be found on the bottom of the order page).

3. We have to sell the product for all the EU citizens with Hungary's quite high 27% VAT - this is the EU law. (The only exception is for the digital services like iTunes, App Store, ebooks where the buyers' country determines the VAT.)

4. Switzerland also gets VAT refund :)

Gabor, is there an email address we can use for problems with an order?

I sent an email to the address of the Paypal account because I had the wrong address on my order - will this be seen before my pedal ships or should I contact someone else?

Gabor,

Thank you to you and your team for providing us this exclusive opportunity. I am so appreciative of the customer support your team has provided so far, and the future customer support that you promised to provide for your product.

Most companies do not provide a tenth of interaction that you have so graciously provided us here.

Thank you and your team for all your time and effort for making this happen for us bass players. Bass players tend to get overlooked a lot, which is why this process has made it truly a pleasure.

We are all waiting here to make music with your innovative product. Thank you.

Yes, you can use the paypal address, or the email address on the bottom of the order page, too!

i've done my fair share of ordering internationally and this is what i have to share.

Paypal's exchange rate does not coincide with rates shown online.

You actually have options:

paypal.jpg

either A/ use your bank account and use Paypal's currency exchange rate or B/using your credit card's exchange rate which typically would be closer to what the current "market" exchange rate is. HOWEVER, most banks will charge a fee (i've actually seen up to 5%). There are others that have special promos or don't charge any exchange fees (I'd recommend checking with you credit card bank company).

IMO, Paypal's rate is very competitive. Paypal actually spells out what exactly you getting charge with, whereas using your CC bank exchange rate fluctuates day to day, so there is really no telling how much you'll be charged until the funds are pulled out. I've used my CC before to buy a bass overseas and the rate i was told by my credit card's bank was less than it was when the money was pulled, so i ended up paying about $30-40 more on a $5000 bass. I was warned, but there is nothing you can do since rates are not locked.

as far as TNT. My experience with them was back in 2013. when the seller had shipped my bass, it was declared and insured for £2200 (or £2500?? i can't remember exactly but remember it was around that vicinity). When it reached the port and went through inspection, i received a call from TNT stating to pay for customs before its released for delivery. This is what was paid.

tntcustoms.jpg

hopefully with a small item its different. perhaps it'll go under the radar like the miscellaneous parts that I order overseas.....but then again these parts were shipped parcel post - so ya.....

in conclusion, get a contact number on your order!!

Well, I've just recently discovered that I actually have more than one interface for USB-MIDI. All good here.

OK... I succumb... Ordered!

At least I'll be able to tell the grandchildren how I once had a pedal from a first batch. (Or maybe even give it to them on their wedding or something :wideyed:)

( P.S. I don't really have grandchildren nor plan to have for that matter... )
