I wish the damn host would speak up though. I bet they needed some type of future microphone to catch his ominous, constant whisper style of speech

I am interested, but we'll see if there are positions available. There's a massive surplus of experienced engineers in the area, thanks to all the auto layoffs. I'm definitely going to put in a resume, though. I have more experience than most graduating ME students, so that's a bit of a leg up.
Having a family friend should help you a bit as well. When you are ready, see if he can get you in there. Every little bit helps.

The weapons are awesome!! But the host's voice is SO damn boring. The constant monotonous whisper is lame as hell and ever harder for me to pay attention to.
His voice holds my attention when recorded in the field, but the narration bits are terrible! Sounds like he takes his voice WAY seriously. Too bad it's just annoying.
Meh... maybe it's just me and my ADD.
Dude, that'd be awesome. He really does host everything on Discovery, but for a damn good reason. He kicks ass.

Really though..Mike Rowe is probably the reason why i watch so much discovery now, he's very articulate funny and informative at the same time.
