i just sent Ryan money for a Rat Tail with flat mids a week ago, and i don't think i can wait any longer!
Ryan!! for every day you make me wait... I'll send you a fruitcake!! MWAH HA HA!!

(people hate fruitcake, right?)

You have about a month. I sent out a RT today to Mr. Christopher Frey of Porch. So, one canucklehead ahead of you. Cheesesteaks please!

Regarding the Stache, whould the gate footswitch mod also include a treshold pot? And are any of the diode options significantly more raw and 'open' sounding than the diode-less tone?

A threshold? As in a noise gate? If this is what you mean, no. It's a physical gate, not a noise gate in particular. In short, it drain the signal off of the Q3 transistor to ground quickly, killing the signal.

The middle setting on our toggle is "no diodes". You can't get more open than that! ;)
After that, LEDs are the most open sounding of all of the diodes.

A gate kills the signal when it goes below a certain level, right?

What I mean is, which option is the least 'smooth' sounding?

Dark Driving mod
"Exernal knobs for tone and gain - $20"

It's external knobs for internal trimmers for gain and amount of bass?

Yes, the internal trimmers are changed to external pots.

And what I really wanted to know, is this 'certain point' adjustable?

So, dirtier than no diodes?

What certain point?

No diodes is the most open, least compressed, loudest, and least dirtiest you can get.

That certain point. Not to sound bratty, but do you really read the posts you reply to?
So... If I want a 'GARR' rather than a 'BZZ', which is best?

Being mean is what drives people like Josh from Malekko away from the forums. Please don't be confrontational...I like it here and enjoy the easy, approachable, hands-on feel that TalkBass and it's users have. Please remember that some people do only get on here for moments at a time, so they do not have time to go back and read old posts. All I needed was clarification. I apologize for not understanding you.

Can you please clarify "GARR"? Any sound clips/video that you can point me to? I can say that a buzzier sound ("BZZ"?) is best made with LEDs.
