Being mean is what drives people like Josh from Malekko away from the forums. Please don't be confrontational...I like it here and enjoy the easy, approachable, hands-on feel that TalkBass and it's users have. Please remember that some people do only get on here for moments at a time, so they do not have time to go back and read old posts. All I needed was clarification. I apologize for not understanding you.

Can you please clarify "GARR"? Any sound clips/video that you can point me to? I can say that a buzzier sound ("BZZ"?) is best made with LEDs.

I think what he's trying to get at is he wants to be able to adjust the threshold of the gate. The point at which the gate closes and bleeds all of the signal off.

Kinda like the DOD gate/loop

First of all, I am really sorry about that. It's not my intention to be mean or confrontational, but I tend to be straightforward and direct, which can easily be taken for aggressiveness. And I am really grateful for you taking time to answer people's questions on here . The thing is, i quoted your post in which you said that the gate kills the signal below a 'certain point', and then I asked if that 'certain point' was adjustable. I thought it would be obvious that something I wrote beneath a quote was related to that quote.

I guess I don't want LEDs then, as a buzzier sound is what I don't want. Thanks!

Exactly, thanks, Awesomenaut!

bassofthe - The certain point is not adjustable "at factory", but you have control via the knob that controls the gate. The gate is wider when set at "no diodes" or "LEDs". Via silicon and germanium diodes there's a noticeable volume drop. Not as noticeable w/ no diodes and LEDs. Also, if you only want a gated stache, we can make it so it's always on.

I finally finished making my pedal board and wiring up all my effects. Now it might be the order of my chain or it might not,but some of my effects just don`t cut it for me any more. I`ve got my VT Deluxe going into my X-blender then into a Flashback delay,tuner/mute and into my amp. In the effects loop i have a Rat Tail(set to no diodes),a Gnomeratron VTF(which I love!) and then a Bass big muff,a Messdrive,a Mastotron and a Bass Synth Wah. I plan on buying a Grey Stache as soon as I can to replace the BBM,Messdrive and Mastotron. I hope I can place an order as soon as next week. I just have to figure out which 2 diodes to settle on.
I`d also like to put that (modded by Ryan) Morley wah into my chain. Any thoughts on where I should place it?

Whoa thats a lot of stuff... I'd love to hear how all of that madness sounds together.

Morley after dirt

Thanks Ryan! I always appreciate the quick response to my questions!(I`m sure everybody here thinks the same thing)
edit: I just put your old wah after the dirt and fuzz but before my Flashback delay. It sounds awesome! Thanks for the help!
I'm alleviating that pain slightly by listening to lots of Russian Circles and ETID.

That`s a damn fine way to kill the days until your Rat Tail shows up! :bassist:
I just bought ETID`s vinyl box set a week or so back. It came out a few years ago but i didn`t have a turntable at the time. It consists of the first 3 full lengths(but not their first EP).
Even though I had those on cd already I thought it would be cool to have `em on (somewhat limited edition) vinyl.
