Lots of tasty G&L's in the Classifieds:
1980 L-1000
1983 SB-2
1983 SB-1
Lynx w/ Moses Neck
1996 Legacy
And that's just on the 1st page!
Oh, here's a "Cheap and Ugly" 1981 L-1000
A guy could go broke...
holy hell, that kid is getting an incredible Jaco sound out of that. I'll have to see if I can get that:lol:Yes, most of L2K videos' do not sound good at all, including Ed Friedland's review... Mostly because they are not well recorded, usually just some crappy mic capturing the room sound.
I think the best one is from a Mexican kid, IIRC. He plays really well and the tone is nice too.

There is a guy with a white L2K-E from the 80s which does a really nice demo too. ( G&L L2000 Series E Bass Demo Fingerstyle - YouTube )
I sold my 81 L1000 and will never get rid of my old SB2. They are complimentary but I greatly prefer the SB. Congrats on a wise purchase.
Different strokes 'n all but for me, the L-1000 is still the Cadillac of the G&L family. A little more heft to the sound than the SB's, and more versatile.
If I could only have one bass....
Thats why I'm planning to have both.
Oooh datz nize!
What is the exact color name or code, if you don't mind my asking? I'm planning a surf color refin, and that color is perfect.
It looks very nice, did you DIY, or have it done?
