Thanks! I really like the instrument. It's beautifully made. It sounds great and plays very well. You can't ask for much more than that. I'd have this over a Fender any day of the year. I take good care of my gear so it's in mint condition too.

Yes, black pickup covers would look good on the bass. I have thought of doing that from time to time. The most immediate change I'm going to make is putting on a nice set of flatwounds.

They're both hot pups.
It will, in part, depend where you have pickup height set on yer axe.

OK, maybe I'll experiment with raising the pick-up on the L1000. Would you say that it was difficult to do?

Nope. You just need a small phillips head screwdriver to raise and lower the unit.

I finally got around to performing the modification to my series/parallel switch and wired it parallel/SC OS/series. I'm very happy with the results. The SC OS wiring really cops the more 70's jazz tone and adds some very nice sizzle to the sound. Definitely improved the slap sound of the bass.

I'm amazed at how many variations of tone that I can get out of my L2500. I'm thinking that I'll primarily go with the passive SC or parallel most of the time. I just love the finger style tone.

i just picked one up, just like that, but in a sparkle red. its a 96 model. i totally love it! got it for $375!!!!! its my #1 player now. how do you post pics up here from a cell phone? i'll post some if someone can tell me how to do it.
