Actually, the white is a replacement guard. The original was aged pearl. IMO, the white is a huge improvement.

Sorry if I misled you...I wasn't specifically recommending the aged pearl pickguard, just that changing a pickguard can alter the appearance to make you like that appearance more, and you've obviously done that. On the plus side, very few players play green basses, so they're really a standout.
No worries. Its funny, I do get a lot of recommendations to put a pearl or aged pearl guard on. I mocked it up with other guards in white, black, tort, mint, cream... I almost went with a non-aged pearl, but just thought the white looked sharp and crisp with the green.
I just checked out your bass pics. MAN ALIVE!! You have some beautiful basses there, but I have to say my favorite is actually that Bel Air green LB100. I lived most of my life in The Land of Enchantment, and we'd call that turquoise there, and you're right, the white pickguard looks perfect on it. I think it's breathtaking, and very unique. Almost too pretty to play...or for your dog to nap on!

Thanks. Many come and many go, but my LB-100, L-1000 and L-2000 are in for the long haul. And the LB-100 has taken a few knocks in its life, and I don’t feel like I have to baby it. So it’s very dog friendly.
True that (though cars are an exception). I can’t think of a product that changes hands more than basses! LOL

I'm wondering if someone butchered that headstock themselves trying to make it more 80's or something.
I'm wondering if someone put a lefty Interceptor neck on it.

It's one of the ones I built from rejected parts and sold eons ago.
It's neck is a lefty from an Interceptor.
It's called the Sickle headstock, only used for a few years.
** Change that to likely, can't be certain it's one of my frankens, it may have been refinished. I did not paint the back of the neck. I sold it to the bassist from Krokus and Black oak Arkansas Andy Tanas. So *shrug*
I cut the eyegouger off with a coping saw.

There's other frankens out there.
A lefty interceptor body, with a right handed Sickle headstock with a Kahler tremelo , 3 Lynx pickups all passive with switches for each pickup.
One more , an L2000 transparent red ash body, fretless ebony neck.
I found a really clear demo video comparing a SB-1 pickup with a traditional alnico and two others, and thought it deserved a thread of it's own rather than just being posted here. But it needs posting here too
