G&L Club Part 7

G&L_FD_JB_6sm_usm.jpg
Hey everyone. I finally went ahead and bought a bass I'd been looking at for some time. It's a G&L Fullerton Deluxe JB. I'm loving it! I can't believe how fat these pickups are for a passive bass. This thing has BALLS all up and down the fingerboard. I wish I'd gotten one of these before now.

So does anyone know how or who you have to talk to to become a member of this club?
Shucks, I think all ya gotta do is post some pics. You DO have pics to post, don't ya?

Or are you the first G&L owner since dirt was invented that doesn't want to show one off?

Full disclaimer: I sold mine before ever hearing about TB, but I continue to "lurk" on this thread with full intention of getting another some day. Like maybe an LB-100 with a Jazz neck. Or an SB-2T. Or maybe a straight SB-2. Or maybe the 2-T after all. Or maybe the straight 2. Or...

Yep, I posted photos on Page 1098 post #21944

I origionally put an order in to Sweetwater for this exact same one. It is gordeous. I changed my mind as it was not in stock and didn't know when they would come in so I went for an SB-2 in Surf Green. Did you order the last one or did they just come in. I tried last Saturday. There have been very few guitar's and basses I have stuck with the pickups stock but this is one I will not change. Totally fabulous tone

Missed the last one of the original batch at Sweetwater. It was a similar weight to mine. Got tired of waiting for more to come in there. Purchased this from another dealer.

And, yes, SB-2's are great. I have both a Tribute and a USA, both set up with tone controls, so defacto 2T's. Originally thought I'd put an MFD in the LB-100, but kinda digging the alnico.

The pink SB-1 with quartersawn 1½" neck and superlight empress body is now up on the Rocket Music website:

NB: CLF Research knobs too :smug:

It'll discount to $1320 at checkout, to make up for the case bearing witness to its adventures.

And instead of the stock Daddario piffle, it's strung with a set of classic Rotosound Swing Bass 66, to bring out the goodness in the maple neck and MFD split pickup

:bassist:

Nice! Good price, too.

Shell Pink...it's the New Black! (er, maybe not).

I like the Sunset Coral finish too.

Speaking of Shell Pink G&L's...I got my pink SB-1 all set up the way I like, finally. I thought a set of 100ga Chromes would be the ballz, but surprisingly this bass doesn't seem to like the tension or the brightness. Instead, LaBella 100ga LTF's are working out great, both play-wise and sound-wise. Got a black pickguard to replace the OEM white pearl. Now it has a little bit of that two-tone black/pink mid 50's car vibe I was going for.

Nice workbench, too. All kinds of envy here...

Very nice! Mine just has two volume controls. May some time add a tone control. We'll see
