Why make this and the Tribute JB for roughly the same price?
almost certainly the Placentia line is cheaper to produce, and it's "jazz bass", but it's frankly kinda gross of them to put out something so bad with their name on it implying that it's of a certain quality, when in reality it's just a cash grabI'm betting it has something to do with money.
I think it's just confusing. Why make this and the Tribute JB for roughly the same price? Especially since the Placentia is not great quality
Hell,All that matters... ladies and gentlemen, a moment of silence... for the box.
Hell,
My clearance Tribby showed up in a box much worse than that.
Looked like the Black Panther took a swipe at it.
Luckily, the bass was unharmed.
The 30th Anniversary L-2000 model from 2010 - was there anything special about it other than the pickup cover matching the paint? And does anyone know if the color used "white pearl frost" is the same as the current white pearl offered on the option orders?
To their credit they have solved a few of them. Maybe we will get lucky and they will solve some more in the next 10 to 20 years. A list of my favorite quirks...
Resolved:
Spring Ping (MFD picking up pickup springs due to no foam in springs)
5 String Basses not fitting G&G Cases
Battery compartments (did not used to have them)
Unresolved:
Lack of shielding
Tuning key separation (key comes loose from tuning post; frequently due to case not fitting at least that is what caused mine)
Probably more than that, but those ones are the ones I have experienced.

I thought he switched to the Fallout from the L2K.It's not a L2000 it's a fallout.
Just a heads up for anyone wondering about their newer Tribute bass.
Mine is about a year old and yesterday I noticed some crazy overtones while I was playing. Popped the pickup out today and sure enough! Springs with no foam.
Shoved some in there and all is right with the world. Or at least my pickup.
Spot on!It's not a L2000 it's a fallout.
For future reference, did you put foam in the springs or just under the pickup on the black area between the springs? Or both?
