Just got my LB-100 back from my local tech after he did a shielding/screening job on it. It is now super quiet! Still can't believe G&L don't do it at the factory. It makes such a difference… mine was sooo noisy. Considering the price of their instruments, it's the least they could do.
Not wrong. They are sold as premium instruments. Not screening them is a glaring omission.
I think I read in this thread that the tribute factory sprays the cavities with conductive paint. I might be wrong, though.
I've also customised it slightly… Got a white pickup cover online, replaced the stock one (black). I like it
. If I get sick of it I can always put the black one on. It's a simple operation!

Keep some budget for a shielding job
(Yes I'm being sarcastic a bit but it's still beyond me that they need that. To be fair, I had an outstanding service from @RocketMusic - Greg, and even he warned me it'll need a shielding job. To be fair now I've had it done, it gives me some peace of mind. The noise I used to get was unbearable)

that is gorgeous! I love that finish. One day I'll order another with it.
Ordered almost 4 months after I ordered my Empress Quartersawn LB-100 and it arrives before mine? What a wretched company.
I have said it before (probably in this thread) but I will say it again. I am surprised how well received G&L Andromeda finish has been given how poorly received Peavey Holoflake Black was on their G basses. Remember reading about how ugly they were and got a solid deal on an NOS GV because it was "ugly". I like the look and it looks even better under stage lights.

Even the Tributes are painted with shielding paint. The USAs don't even have that. I've never understood that, but I've been lucky. My USA Kiloton & SB-2 are both surprisingly quiet for unshielded instruments. I finally went into the SB-2 and shielded it with copper tape. It didn't really need it, but I was in it doing some re-wiring and had a roll of copper tape, so I figured it was a good time to do it.
I don't get how this has happened to you. I really hope you get it soon!
My 2014 L2k. It's super quiet on stage, under the lights. Bought new at Bass North West. The only thing I ever needed (still need) to do is a fret job-- due to being worn down from playing 
and a few of the higher frets are starting to lift slightly.
An interesting thing about the blue-burst finishes: the outer edges are a deep purple-- not black. It's such a subtle detail that is only noticeable if you are looking at it under bright light. I've always wondered if the Tribute line does the same thing (?)
