I may not fully believe in Santa but pretty sure Santa believes in me. As new and was listed as a JB Fullerton Deluxe but it helps to look closely. Beautiful and quite dark rosewood board. COA & build sheet from April. 9lb, 6oz. G&L branded Protec bag (their CF233) and a 4 month old set up receipt (w EB Slinky's) from the player who sold it to GC. Everything feels copacetic, but sending him an email for some info. First thing was comparing it to my SB2 1st gen as that's a tough jazz to beat. The 1st gen has some P in it's jazz and breaks more when digging in. This new MFD takes digging in without breaking a sweat but's it's still all MFD magic. Played it back and forth with M2000, L2000, Toro... and now just playing her. All it needs is a kind of fancy black guard.
This part hits hard- I bought this online a week ago and found out later in the day that my younger brother had passed away. He was a bass player as well, had moved south of Memphis from MI a year ago with his GF and her son. That's a long way from family, home and further from here. He and I used to jibe each other over who had what basses, how many and plenty of other BS. I think he left with well over a dozen. Going to name this one for him, Stevie, and since all mine have feminine names, I'm going to tell everyone it's Nicks. He'd like that.
