The knobs were on control panels in 3 bedrooms, for a built in music system in a condo we lived in.
We never used it, and I thought the knobs looked cool, so I swapped out some chrome Fender knobs for them.

I got this bass as a trade with a fellow TB member. He got a really nice LB-100. There are a lot of unique features about this bass that I really love. (1.5/8 nut,12” radius,empress body,alnico pickup,rear routed controls, matching headstock).The only thing that would make me love it even more would be if the pickup was in the Kiloton position.
Were you the original owner?

No, I took it in on a trade with a local TBer in Sept. 2018 and traded away to a TBer in Indiana in March of 2019. It is my understanding that it was one of the BABP runs. Quite a difference between it's 7lb. 1/2oz and the 10lb. 2.4oz. wt of the '81 I just took in.

That's a beautiful bass. I had a US JB for a while. It was probably the snappiest, awesomest sounding jazz that I had ever held up to then. I can only imagine what those MFDs sound like. Love the color too.

Yeah, it is a featherweight, and I’ve become quite accustomed to that. I think the guy I got it from was in Indiana as well.
Hopefully it's been well cared for. It left here without a mark on it. I never liked the G&G Tolex cases that were supplied with G&Ls. Too much room for the basses to flop end to end around in. Especially bad for the 3+2 like L2500s. The A string tuners get bent easily, though it's more of a G&L problem in that they were designed with the tuner key poking out above the end of the headstock.
It was in excellent condition when I got it, and still is. I did not get a GL hardshell case with it, just a gig bag.
This is how I packed it before going in the box... OHSC. Here's the build sheet too if you didn't get that with it.

While I didn’t get the GL hardcase, the swapper did include the spec sheet. The bass had some sort of aluminum looking knobs,
which I presumed were not from GL. I like them, and still have them in my spare parts bin.
I wish my ‘01 JB-2 had a similar neck, it is a skinny 1.5”nut/7.5” radius. And weighs in just under 9 pounds. No spec sheet with that one,
i’m presuming the body wood is alder,as it has very little grain.
Hello everyone, long story short, purchased used LB-100 yesterday, took the neck off today and found that it's actually a neck from a L-2000. The body has a 2015 stamp, the neck a 2012 label. The neck has a Fullerton s/n plaque screwed in the back of the headstock, but I have no way to vet the body other than the date stamp.
I'm not super concerned about not having the original neck, but I'm curious what differences there may be. Measuring at the nut, the L-2000 neck is 1.71" and it feels thinner front to back, but I don't know what the profile or what any other characteristics might be.
Ultimately, I plan on keeping it as it plays well and sound great through the amp and basic recording I did to test. Curious to get the squad's thoughts.

That nut width is great for a LB-100. Finding an LB-100 with a 1-3/4" nut can be tough, but their out there.

My eye was drawn to that area thinking the same thing, though maybe it was ordered without the Model Number. That was an option.
Quarter sawn neck too, always a welcome sight on a G&L.
