I'm not sure why L-1500/1505s get the tepid reaction they do. Resale prices are among the lowest of all current G&L models and they seem to take forever to sell. But I'll tell you this--run one in passive/parallel into a SVT-type rig and you have an incredible blend of cut, punch, and balls. My 1505 would be my #1 if it wasn't for how comfortable and easy my L-5000 plays.

I don't get it either. The reason it never quite worked in the mix for me before is because I have a rig with really tight lows that made the L-1000 sit perfectly with the guitar. Now that the guitar is gone, I can boost the lows on my amp just a touch with an HPF and the L-1500 is killer. It blows away any Stingray that I've played because it keeps the highs a bit smoother. It also pairs really nicely with the EQ points on my GK MB Fusion 500.

My L-1500 is special to me. It's black with rosewood and no dots on the face! One guitarist I play with doesn't want me to bring any other bass to gigs. So, OK! I rarely use the active mode, but it has the K-mod and I enjoy all the passive settings. I think a lot of Stingray players don't know what they're missing with this model.

The M-2500 is a relatively new addition to the product line. It only came to exist 2-3 years ago, whereas the L-2500 has been around for a much longer time...

I'm 99% certain that it started before the M-2500 was introduced (so they're all likely to be plek'd), but I can't recall the exact timeframe...

The M-2000 and M-2500 were introduced at the 2011 BassPlayer Live! event in Oct. 2011.
The build sheet for my M2500 - dated 3/7/2012 (CLF064xxx) - had been signed by the gentleman in the video above. Of course, it had been pleck'd and the action was incredibly low (now sold). It also had the best 5-string neck I ever played.

Hello fellow G&L clubbers (oops, I remember I don't have a member's number)
Straight to the point, I plugged my mid2000s L2000 directly to my external soundcard and got this (see attached pic) which may explain a hiss a get when I crank the tweeter level. It's interesting that this bump at 8k and 16k is constant and doesn't change while playing. However, it may reduce significantly if I enable active circuit or dim the tremble knob.
Any ideas on this?
