Here's a couple more then. Both of these had matching headstocks and GNT neck finish.
My L-2500 is a cherry burst but the flamed tops on those take that burst to another level.
Actually, is the SB-2 a cherry burst or a honey burst? Now that I think about it, it looks more like my honeyburst Stingray than my L-2500.

It was Cherryburst. It was unique and the best of all the SB-2's I've had. And the only G&L I regret selling. It popped up on ebay about a year ago in Oregon. I'd have bought it back at any price but the listing was for local pickup only. Color me irked.

I like that L-5000. Not that it'll ever happen, but a reissue of that would be on my list of basses to own.

Yessir. It's greened up a little over the years. Such a fun bass to play.
That's my old JB-2! The Delano pickups are amazing, way better than the stock ones. Congratulations on the trade. I miss her from time to time but my GAS for a Sunburst LB-100 won out...
I'm sure you're sick of people saying how weird it is to see left handed basses, but that SB-2 left handed AND upside down is just screwing with my head. I feel like I'm looking at a Mr. Potato head that's been all mixed up. Beautiful basses though, love the black and tort.

I don't get those weird comments often, but they don't bother me in the least. I once brought a bass in to Mike Lull's shop and after I opened the case he said "Well, first off, it's backwards!"
I got a laugh out of that.
This is a long shot, but does anyone have an idea if the L5000 pickup was a bigger version of the z-coil or a totally different design?
It's very similar to the Z coils, Leo did a lot of experimenting with split coil pickups due to Gibson's humbucker patent. They are wider, shallower coils than the guitar Z coils which are deep and narrow but they have the same one adjustable pole per string and a bottom loaded ceramic magnet.
That would be very interesting! My son put a set of Z coils in his Legacy Tribute and wired it up like a Comanche Studio VI with the six toggle switches. Those pickups seem to have a very wide frequency response, much more than an alnico single coil to my ears. I bet they would work really well in a Bass VI.
