That's right. The G&L "Vintage Alnico" pickups are very traditional, and similar to many Fender MIA Jazz single coils. They aren't hot by any means, but sound great.

2016 LB 100 in Fullerton Red came last week.

I love that color with "something other than tort" pickguards...
It looks white in the picture, but the spec. sheet calls it "parchment". It's a nice color.
But now you got me thinkin' .....

)I don't mind tort, I just prefer Fullerton/Fiesta red with white, parchment, mint, cream, etc.
I had a Fiesta red J for a while it had a tort guard. Had I hung onto it any longer than I did, it probably would have been swapped for something else.
In person, that Fulerton or "Fiesta" red can be quite the eye catcher if done right. And the G&L people really know how to make a finish pop. But matching that color with a pickguard is kinda tricky. If a vintage vibe is the goal, maybe mint or cream is the way to go for a pickguard. But this color with a red tort? Yikes!

Yes, Yikes, that's pretty. I would find mint really ugly. That's why there are so many colors. We all have different tastes.

Yeah, mint probably wouldn't work. Perhaps that white parchment is the best choice but how about matching white pickup covers? Maybe that's the missing ingredient here?
