Yes,I agree,let's get back to G&L's! Here is my 2016 L2000,3TSB,2002 L2000 Asat,vintage burst,lined defretted fretless,and 2017 L1000 blue burst. Love the G&L's you think?

This arrived yesterday.
It shipped filthy, strings all the way detuned, and the worst setup I've ever seen on a G&L; only one screw in each saddle was hitting the bridge base. Jeez.
Anyway.
Cleaned up, restrung, set up from scratch and now it's fine.
I'd forgotten these had parallel, single coil, and single coil w/bass boost, and not series.
Which is fine, and I prefer that as series is generally pretty dark.

Note the one million year old rocky and Bullwinkle polishing cloth.

Nice finish, Chef. Moose and squirrel approve.

Have you intonated it yet? I'm surprised to see your saddles so far forward. I own a Tribute JB-2, and the only way I could move the E saddle back far enough was to cut the saddle spring in half. I just bought a Tribute SB-2 and it looks like I may have to do the same thing.

Anyways, nice bass!

Thought I was the only one, that received a bass without any attention to detail? L2000 Asat received a few days ago, two,of the intonation screws,on E,and A saddles were missing, plus had to replace loose fitting tunnel jack, and was shipped to me in the molded G&L case, not packed in a shipping box. Had to put new strings, and replaced the battery, just so I would know it was a fresh one? Thought I would share with you,Chef.

That particular burst never worked for me when there was a pickguard. Seeing this bass it makes more sense to me and looks like a million bucks. I like the whole aesthetic of that bass. Very nice.

Not offended, but just because bass players, don't play fretless basses, makes their brain have any less ability? As long as you enjoy playing the bass, fretless,or fretted,is what it is all about right? Enjoy the ride! Nice natural fretless G&L that was just posted.

Expression is expression frets or not. Unfortunately guys that move to fretless can sometimes allow their brain to concentrate on the lines rather than listening to the intonation which is most important part of playing fretless.

I have no axe to grind just trying to be helpful. It is so much more important in fretless to train the ear, lines slow this process down.

Spread your wings and fly if you have lines close your eyes. Trying to encourage a leap of faith not a controversy.

All is good,I appreciate your help, and thoughts,Take Care!

FedEx claimed we weren't home to deliver (signature required) and drove back to the hub. Won't be delivered again until Tuesday. We were home. Room full of people by the front door. They never rang the bell or knocked. We never saw them.

I called FedEx livid. Nothing they could/would do to fix this. I'm not happy. Just hope the bass isn't beaten up because I complained.

Delivery by ANYBODY any more is a crap shoot. The USPS claims they delivered my new strings on Wednesday, but I have yet to see them. About a month ago UPS claims they delivered two shirts, same story there (Amazon made good on that one). A few months ago, and I can't remember the carrier, my new SUB Stingray came with a chip in the body that matched a dent in the box (I took that back to GC and got a new one). On yet another delivery months ago the carrier claimed it was delivered on Friday, but I didn't get it until the following Monday or Tuesday. USPS, UPS, FedEx - I would lump them all together and call them Bozo's Circus!

Good luck, Todd. Hope it arrives for you on Tuesday, undamaged.

they did this twice to me. Lazy driver doesn't even want to come. I said if he was there where's the notice on my door? It's happened twice actually and both times I was able to see online that the package was marked not delivered in tracking, so I forced them to make the driver turn around and come back. This only works if you catch it before the driver finishes for the day

So my new quest would be a fretless version of an Empress LB-100.
I recently purchased a Tony Franklin P Bass in 3 color burst but its got to be around 9 pounds and I've gotten so used to my 7 poung LB-100. With my back troubles a lighter version fretless would be nice .

So LB-100 Empress body fretless no lines ebony unfinished board wine red with tort guard.

One can dream right?
