I'm waiting for the Tributes to show up at one of the stores I frequent.
Not sure if I can go with the 4-bolt neck but I still want to try one and I have to think there's hardly any difference in tone between the two.

Get one. They are tone monsters. Mine has become my#1.
I played a couple of Tribute Kilos a few months back. Wasn't impressed with the feel of the necks. And I've owned other Tributes in the past, so I know what I can expect out of them. The necks just felt rough, needing work. Hope they were the exceptions and not the current standard.
I'm getting by with this right now, but my next bass will definitely be another G&L.
And dead strings were good enough for Jamerson.

I just used a crayon to add the dots myself. I had to borrow one from my 4 year old neighbor. I promised to play the Barney song for him when I was finished, but he said he only wanted to hear "Old Man Decrepit Frozen" by Ancient Necropsy.
This really is one of my favorite basses that I see on this site.

I literally have an exact copy of this bass. See my avatar. It's dope though sometimes I GAS for an LB. I always talk myself out of it though since I know I don't really need it tonally.
Cool! My primary was a really nice Fender P Select. I bought the SB-2 to replace one I had to sell in 2005. It was going to be my primary backup, but it sound so good and so comfortable to play, it has become my goto.
And it looks better anyway. My L-2500 is markerless as well and I love that cleaner look. The only real negative is that guitar players who are trying to follow what you're playing might gripe that it's harder to see what you're playing at a quick glance without the markers.They charge extra for the dots. I couldn't afford them.
Although, there are those who'd get some entertainment value out of that and see it as a positive.....
